WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court led by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. upheld the heart of President Obama's healthcare law Thursday, ruling that the government may impose tax penalties on those who do not have health insurance. The decision came on a 5-4 vote, with the court's four liberal justices joining with the chief justice.

The Affordable Care Act does not impose a true legal mandate on Americans, he said. It simply requires those who do not have health insurance by 2014 to pay a tax penalty.

What is the difference? You will do as we say or we will punish you. But don't construe that as us making you do anything.

... And it NEVER would have passed if it was a TAX INCREASE.

Justice Souter and Justice Roberts. 2 more reasons to remember the Bushes fondly. And people seriously think about yet another Bush for high office?

What a huge fence straddle. I guess I have to admire its audacity, but well the body politic has its work cut out for it. Abolish the damned tax.

Please explain to me why it's so important to vote GOP for President? Was it about the appointment of Supreme Court Justices - Justices that would uphold the Constitution as written? Not legislate from the bench.

The veil is off, and I don't think the face underneath is whom the Conservative groomsman was betrothed...

There’s one part of this issue I’ve never heard mentioned. How does someone “purchase” health insurance when they don’t have a job?

“in a democracy the people get the government they deserve”

our un-employed people need jobs not bills to pay

Then sadly, your two options are leaving the country or sitting in prison.

How has it come to this? America, as we have known it, is no more.

I don’t know what he’s been drinking, but there is something definitely wrong with him and his decisions.

Noone saw this coming out of him, as far as I can tell. Something stinks here.

If you can’t afford it the FedMob will buy it for you ... with some other man’s money. It’s all in the Act.

A Supreme Court Justice may be impeached by the House of Representatives and removed from office if convicted in a Senate trial, but only for the same types of offenses that would trigger impeachment proceedings for any other government official under Articles I and II of the Constitution.

Article III, Section 1 states that judges of Article III courts shall hold their offices “during good behavior.” “The phrase “good behavior” has been interpreted by the courts to equate to the same level of seriousness ‘high crimes and misdemeanors” encompasses.

It’ll never happen of course since we have a useless Senate, a more useless House of Representative and a Majority of Americans who are looking for handouts and entitlements.

My American flag goes upside down today and will stay that way long into the future.

Will the fedmob go overseas to get the money? ‘Cause that’s where it’s all going to be. Nobody here will have a job.
