TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Gov. Rick Scott now says Florida will do nothing to comply with President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and will not expand its Medicaid program. The announcement is a marked changed after the governor recently said he would follow the law if it were upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Florida is not going to implement Obamacare. We are not going to expand Medicaid and we're not going to implement exchanges," Scott's spokesman Lane Wright told The Associated Press on Saturday. Wright stressed that the governor would work to make sure the law is repealed.

Good. The FUBO train is rolling, up yours bambi!
Scott is feeling the political winds, and they are hurrcane force.
I’ll bet Barry’s boy, Holder, is already writing up the lawsuits. By not bending over for ObamaCare, the states are denying the illegal alien invaders their “constitutional right” to American taxpayer subsidized “free” healthcare. I see it coming. The ‘RATS are so predictable.
That makes it two, WI and FL. More to follow.
Lets see what happens now.
I hope Georgia follows. Our Gov. Deal seams likely to do so.
At what point do we say that the federal government does not serve its purpose and move on? The feds are opposed to states defending their borders. The feds are preventing us from achieving energy independence. The feds are bankrupting the country. The feds are engaged in unpopular wars and covert operations. If the federal government were to go away, what would the states lose? A space program? A global military presence? I think I could live with that.
And so it begins. Saw more of this on Hot Air today. Seems many governors are refusing to implement. God bless them. They really don’t have much choice but to defy the feds or go belly up in red ink.
I believe LA Governor: Bobby Jindal did the same thing yesterday....no odongocare in Louisiana.
Three, Jindal in LA.
Louisiana, Bobby Jindal. No way is he going to agree to this monstrosity.
does this also mean he will protect Florida citizens from paying the additional 6.2% federal tax?
What exactly would be the aftermath of this? Could the governor be imprisoned?
Waiting for Gov. Perry to make the same decision. Texas can stand a long time without the federal government.
Now all we need is the other 56 states to do this. /s
God bless Governor Scott. I hope he can hold out.
How dare these gov’s thumb their noses at SCOTUS! HOW DARE THEM!!
Only ZERO (FUBO) and his thugs are allowed to do such! *sarc*
I hope our TN Republican Governor follows Florida’s lead but I’m not holding my breath. Too many illegal farm workers to take care of.
LOOK OUT! OBAMA IS BRINGING OUT THE GOONS!!
IRS seeks 4,000 agents, $303 million for Obamacare | WashingtonExaminer.com
NOW THINK ABOUT WHY OBAMA WANTED TO TAKE YOUR GUNS. FAST and FURIOUS REBOUND!
Epic Fail—Last I checked, I had all of my guns.
Hell, I think I’ll buy a couple for each of my sons.
Can’t have too many, y’know.
If Obama remains in office, they are all cheap suits.
Three. Jindal already said LA's not participating.
Four - Kansas, LA, FL, and Wisconsin. Those are just the ones I saw in the Hot Air article. I’m thinking they won’t be alone. Mass opting out is the only option they have at this point if they want their states to stay solvent.
The people will rise up and kill Obamacare. But I am glad to see Scott assert state’s rights in this way.
As I have posted on other threads: The real test for Obamacare is not the Supreme Court or even state action. The REAL test will come once they start setting up death panels. How the panelists will be chosen and what they will base their life-or-death decisions on is shrouded in as much mystery as the birthplace of the Glorious Leader. How will people react to all of this? Could get UGLY!
Secession - the final solution to these problems
Neither will Chris.
You can go **** yourself, Odongo.
Since Obama chooses not to defend or enforce existing laws, why should anyone else?
good. but don’t kid yourself. resistance to this liberty stealing monstrosity is now on the backs of the people. i’m preparing my own defenses. no politician or “judge” can be trusted to stop obamacare at this point.
And this is how revolutions begin.
PS I suopprt the Governor.
The Feds will crucify a state governer to make the others get in line.
I am now glad that I voted for this guy! I can’t say that at time of election I was thrilled with it, but Governor Scott has been proving himself to be pretty even handed. He at least shows he has a backbone!
Federalism to the rescue!
I’ll be VERY surprised if the states of the deep South don’t all join this defiance. We live in interesting times....
(BTW, LA, Kansas, FL and Wisconsin have all said “No, thanks” - so far.) May it continue and gain momentum!!
Mine were all tragically lost in my boating accident that is why I need to buy some more now.
“Waiting for Gov. Perry to make the same decision. Texas can stand a long time without the federal government.”
Texas would be hugely important. Where are Oklahoma and Alabama, not to mention Arizona?
Here in Missouri, THEY elected a trial lawyer POS as governor, so although he’s grumbled about thieving CommieCare, I don’t expect much from his corrupt ass.
“Since Obama chooses not to defend or enforce existing laws, why should anyone else?”
Excellent foundational point.
Remember when we used to shudder at the prospect of a Consitutional Convention? Now that ALL THREE branches of the federal government have shat upon that noble Document, its all in for outright citizen-led defiance.
Comence firing. Fire at will.
Along with Governor Jan Brewer, Rick Scott is a contender in the FU Eric Holder, FU Hussein Obama, FU Washington DC sweepstakes. Hurray for Rick Scott!
Who will be the next GOP governor to show a backbone?
“Who will be the next GOP governor to show a backbone?”
I hope that it will be McKenna here in WA....If he wins of course. I e-mailed his campaign and asked if he’s going to show the same guts as Walker did in WI....Haven’t heard back.
Jindal in LA said he won’t follow the law. Great, now how about AZ, TX, VA. GA and a few others nullify the law.
I don't understand the mechanism but the more states (could be up to 24) that refuse to implement this new expanded 0-Care style Medicaid the more difficult it becomes for the remaining liberal states to continue with this farce. It becomes financially impossible for remaining liberal run states to continue
This could be the Achilles heal of 0-Care and it just might be Justice Roberts' poison pill to kill 0-Care
Rick Scott and Scott Walker are leading the way. We need more governors like this, who will not cringe when the federal behemoth sends out a new dictate.
Put some ice on it, Zero, Holder, Sebelius, Incompetano, etc.
Come on California.....
Jerry Brown make a name for yourself
WHAT NO GUTS!!
Hope McKenna wins.... that hideous critter Grigoir quit due to “issues”. Of the medical kind
This is how you do it.
Hopefully he will stand firm.
They only have to expand it if the Feds pay the bill..
Every time I read something about this guy Scott, I like him more and more.
we have an awesome governor in florida
OK will be next.
So why didn't he just strike it down in the first place? Instead, he stuck us with this:
"The Federal Government may enact a tax on an activity that it cannot authorize, forbid, or otherwise control."
