Team Romney: No, we’re not declaring ‘cease-fire’ on Obamacare
Washington Examiner ^

Posted on 07/03/2012 12:09:58 PM PDT by Perdogg

In the days since the Supreme Court decision upholding Obamacare, some Democrats and commentators in the press have suggested that Mitt Romney is declaring a “cease-fire” on the issue and will no longer make it a centerpiece of his campaign to defeat President Obama.

To: Alas Babylon!

I read just fine; I challenged your claim, and you have failed to back it up.

Let me remind you of your own sentence:

“However, I think Romney would be better a much President than Obama, and Diogenesis thinks Obama would be a better president than Romney.”

Where has Diogenesis written that he/she “thinks Obama would be a better president than Romney”?

Provide the actual quote(s), from him/her to support this accusation.

Here’s what Romney needs to say and nothing else.

1) I don’t care if it’s a tax, mandate, or penalty. The people don’t want it. I will repeal it.

2)I dont’t care if it resembles Romneycare. I wouldn’t care if I wrote the damn bill. The people don’t want it. I will repeal it.

3) I don’t care if there are any “good parts”. The people don’t want it. I will repeal it.

Excellent idea. This is one of the reasons I get ALL my news and commentary from FR, because of the excellent ideas and suggestions I read here.

I can only hope someone with some say in the campaign reads this.

This ‘I reject your premise’ crap is pathetic. The logic is rock solid and only a fool would deny it.

Mittens is a flip-flopping, liberal liar. He’s got the character and integrity of a worm. No deal.

A Supreme Court response! I like it!

Thank you. Justice Scalia is a hero of mine, but you're far too kind.

So your answer to defeating liberal policies is to elect a liberal.

Well, would you prefer a Marxist bent on enslaving you and confiscating your wealth while spreading it around to every third world country on the planet? You know, just to be "fair" and all. Those are among his most cherished aspirations.

It's almost if some of ya'll have nothing to lose and you want to expedite everyone's ruin.

Oh you're welcome.

Like the rest of government, they're good at telling ya they care and love ya, while gang raping you.

Oh, which one, that The King is a Marxist, or that he wants to enslave you, or to seize your assets and choose the beneficiary? I think I’m closing in on the problem here...

The premise that you can be a conservative and vote for a liberal.

The problem is you think it’s possible.

There are two groups of people on FR.

1. Conservatives (large number)
2. Kamikaze conservatives (small number)

I have been here nearly 14 years and can tell you that you are wrong. There are three groups of people on this site>

1. Conservatives (small group)

2. Pseudo conservatives. (larger group)These people like conservatism, unless it applies to them.

3. Republicans (largest group). I'm\'m not talking about Conservatives who vote Republican. I'm talking about Republicans who would vote for anyone with an R behind their names. These people are easy to spot as they are usually the most arrogant by far.

I’m not willing to accede that. You said, “The only way to win is not to play.”

That’s not true. Everyone who doesn’t vote in an election is accepting the majority outcome. Not choosing isn’t a choice.

Who said don’t vote? Not me. I’m voting for Goode. I’m not playing in the GOP/Dem fiasco.

We can’t stop electing liberal Republicans. There are simply states and districts and localities where the best you’re going to get are liberal Republicans. It’s one of the drawbacks to being a national party.

The benefit at least at the Federal level is control of committees, etc. If you’re referring to the Presidential Race I didn’t elect a liberal Republican - conservative candidates who wouldn’t drop out and coalesce around a single conservative did. By the time it got to me it was over.

My thinking, and I’m a conservative just like you, is that with Romney we’ve got a chance. Obama is a Cook County Democrat and a Black Liberation True Believer. I live in Cook County and they’re evil. I don’t believe Romney’s worse than that. I feel that with Romney we at least have a shot at a SCOTUS nominee who is to the right of Kagan.

Simple. This staunch conservative will always vote for the most conservative candidate, in this case my last choice nominee, Romney. Anything else at this juncture is an active vote for Bama
