“Independence Day now seems more a commemoration than a celebration.”

The day may come, perhaps within thirty years, when we see “Independence Day” renamed to something else.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see it renamed to “Equality Day” — no longer celebrating the “independence” of the nation or the individual, but rather the government-forced “equality” of everyone and the equality of all cultures....

That thought has also crossed my mind from time to time . . . oddly enough.

You are dead on right except, you did not go far enough.
Just for fun try this little exercise, list every President from Washington in 1789 until this current POS. Then look up the top events of his administration. How did he leave the nation and the Constitution. How did each leave the Nation and the Constitution? Then next to each name write one of the following words. BETTER, WORSE, NO CHANGE I think you will be amazed. I was. My list is pretty darn short. Especially since 1900.

It may not be much of a signal, but it is my heartfelt message ... this We The People Republic is in horrific distress:

“YES. It is likely that Republicans are going to be in charge of both houses of congress after the next election, even if the POTUS is a liberal Republican. And far more of these congressmen and senators will be REAL conservatives, not RINOs!”

If the Republicans win the executive branch and both houses of Congress, the leadership will be: Romney, Boehner, McConnell. These three “leaders” will set the agenda for the majority party and control the levers of power for the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. There will not be enough real conservatives in Congress to pose a threat to their power and all three have consistently been willing to compromise their avowed principles with the Democrats throughout their careers.

Name one time any of these three men risked his political career to fight for a conservative principle. Tell me about the vision each has for the future of America. Romney has been running for years and I have no clue what he really stands for deep down in his soul. Mitch McConnell all but said this week he wouldn’t fight to eliminate Obamacare in the next Congress. Boehner, with a Republican majority in the House, has done nothing to put a brake on the ruinous deficit spending destroying the dollar, the economy, and the credit of the nation. Contrast with Ronald Reagan who wore his convictions on his sleeve proudly and never wavered in the face of unrelenting attacks.

The Democrat leadership minority leadership will be Pelosi and Reid (or worse if either of them retires). The second string (Chuck Schumer, Dick Durban, Patty Murray, Debbie Stabenow, Steny Hoyer, James Clyburn, Wasserman-Schultz are all hard core leftists who relish fighting to the finish. The Democrat leadership, allied with the mainstream press, will be highly energized to engage the Republicans on every issue. Reid will have no problem using the filibuster at every turn to block legislation that might turn back the socialist tide. No doubt at the same George Soros will be making mischief in the markets in order to bring down the economy. The mainstream press will start blaming the Republicans from day one for high unemployment, the exploding deficit, and everything bad in the world.

I would like to be optimistic but it is difficult for me to see three men with no vision or convictions (Romney, Boehner, McConnell) suddenly change their stripes and go to battle on behalf of conservative principles they’ve never held deeply or at all. It is more likely we’ll see a repeat of the pathetic Bush, Hastert, Frist leadership of the last Republican administration. Thank goodness Washington didn’t have to rely on them at Valley Forge.

As the heat goes up, both temperature and political, Obama will feel less inclined to abide by any of our laws.

They will be coming for our gold and guns soon. The healthcare debacle was all about the potential tax revenue hidden in the bill. They will shutdown the internet and start raids sometime within the next few years (my guess). Using financial emergency powers or some faked terrorist attack (or just one they let happen). We need to have a method to communicate when the raids begin. Any suggestions ? Should we go back to independent dialup modems as a backup ? Perhaps ham radio operators can be used for communication ?

How is this even happening?

Because DC is financially bankrupt as well as morally bankrupt. To the Oligarchy, it is all about the money. Obama gave them all trillions in debt to blow on trinkets. Who cares that he corrupted the Supreme Court. Who cares that his minions corrupted the Legislative Process. Who cares that he handed Egypt with all its national treasures to the Muslim Brotherhood. Everyone got government grants to buy cheesy poofs.

Unfortunately, all we now have to show it for it is cheesy poof farts and a dysfunctional government. Romney wont be much better, but we know that going in. We know how the Oligarchy works. So we use their strengths against them. We move the ball back to the RINO side. They are not setup for a revolutionary or secessionist movement from the right while the RINOS control the power. Imagine Obama cracking down on the Occupiers with Grape Shot. The reaction would have been astronomical. Time to jump ahead of the game and use it to our favor.

Romney's RINO job will be to preserve the revenue makers in the Healthcare debacle. He will also move for gun control and climate change legislation. But we get him elected knowing that and just using him to cover the secessionist or revolutionary movement. The only alternative now would be to champion someone at the convention. Who ? Palin ? Ron Paul ?

We celebrate it. It’s up to the parents to celebrate and teach their children how to do the same.

So, we don’t give up either. Stop worrying about the enemy and how they won’t give up. Just concentrate on the good guys who WILL FIGHT for our country! THAT’S what should be out there.

Over the years my block in a suburb of Muncie, IN—which calls itself `America’s Home Town’—has been awash in red, white and blue: flags, bunting, banners, etc.
This has tapered off over the last few years. This everning only one house on our block has a flag up, and it’s not mine. Not voicing an opinion, just pointing out a fact in the summer of 2012.

The Crown told the American colonists the same thing. 236 years later here we are. ‘’Is Freedom so Sweet, is Liberty so Precious as to be purchased at the Price of Chains? Almighty God forbid it. I know not what Course others may take but as for Me give Me Liberty or give Me Death’’— Patrick Henry. A better man than me but I’m beginning to feel as he does.

this country thinks it can serve two masters but it can’t any more than any individual can.

We have the answer and are thus far unwilling to use it.

No amount of communication- internet, dial up modem, ham radio will overcome the lack of cohesion.

It would take a little effort on everyone’s part and if we do it, all will be won and if we don’t we’ll continue.

Pray for an end to state sanctioned abortion. Work to end it.
that’s the real issue.

Just an opinion, of course.

If Obama is reelected I believe that November 6, 2012 could be the last free election we will see for some time. Obama is increasingly ruling by decree, ignoring Congress and the courts and has assumed powers beyond those given to the POTUS in the Constitution. He could easily make himself dictator.

I am a radio operator, and those among us are prepared for just such an eventuality. Dial-up will be spotty, at best, since the government can control centrally-located communication media such as phone, Internet, and television, but they’re going to have a real hard time tracking down a mobile HAM or even someone on CB.

Larger stations with high yagis or VHF/UHF antennas might get shutdown for just looking like a radio station, so large scale broadcasting might not be immediately available; however, there’s a very robust relay network across this country that could ensure communications are available during a crisis, and I can assure you that many HAMs are ready for just this sort of eventuality.

The unfortunate part, like being an FFL holder, the FCC has records on who is a licensed HAM. If they wanted to round all of them up, that’s certainly a possibility, but the airwaves will still remain unregulated for obvious reasons. The government cannot be everywhere at once and cannot monitor or block RF coms everywhere at once.

Rallying points should be churches, community centers, schools, or even golf clubhouses.
