A veteran state lawmaker in North Carolina says she pushed the wrong button late Monday night in a marathon legislative session and accidentally opened up the state to fracking.

Rep. Becky Carney, a five-term Democrat from Charlotte, burst into tears after mistakenly voting with Republicans to override Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue’s veto of the contentious legislation.

How much does she get paid by her constituents to merely push either the red or the green button?

Merits of the issue aside...LOL!

All she had to do was push the red OR the green button.

Well it is Bush’s fault.

In this case RED meant go and she and everyone else knows RED means stop and she pushed RED because she wanted to STOP the legislation. Or vice versa??

Then she cried when they would let her do a do over?

Actually she didn’t know or care about the subject, one way or the other - she was crying because she voted WITH the R’s, the first time she has ever done that in her political career, the subject matter doesn’t count, voting along with a R is what the real problem is.

Sorry for the delayed responses....had duties here to take care of....I have to admit, I didn’t know whether to cry with joy or be sad that this even had to become a veto overturn.

Upchuck...it is the WSJ via Fox News.

This is truly rich beyond anything I’ve experienced.

I’m sure this has happened before, but as a deciding miscast vote? I don’t know.

It came down to pressing the red button for NO and the green button for YES.

Hell, even I could have done that correctly. And after several beers.

Vote for Cowgirl of Justice!!!!!

Either she didn't read the bill (very likely) or she missed RAT-caucus, where they would have told her how to vote.

Follow up: Meaning, she has an aversion to “Red”. Being, by default, a socialist, she usually thinks “Green”....she reacted.

Surely you were trying to say,
“Forget her, sniveling Twit, She was just trying to have it both ways.”
That is it isn’t it?

Maybe, considering the castigation she is receiving, we should extend a comforting hand of gratitude to her so that she sees our warmth after receiving the coldness of her comrades.
