CA Makes Moves to Ban Most Semi-Auto Firearms
NSSF ^ | 7/2/12

Posted on 07/07/2012 10:16:15 AM PDT by pabianice

(GunReports.com) -- If you think it is hard to own and possess a semi-automatic firearm in California now, just wait until Senate Bill 249 gets enacted, NRA-ILA reports.

Senate Bill 249 was amended from an agriculture bill to a serious anti-gun bill to eliminate the ownership and possession of most semi-automatic firearms by law-abiding Californians. SB 249, introduced by state Senator Leland Yee (D-8), would restrict any person from importing, making, selling, loaning, transferring or possessing magazine release components in semi-auto firearms (bullet button, etc).

Senate Bill 249, if enacted, would ban the ownership and possession of AR-15s and other magazine-fed semi-automatic firearms that currently use "bullet buttons" or other tools to restrict the removal of the magazine. This anti-gun bill would also authorize civil and criminal penalties for possessing a "conversion kit."

Also, SB 249 would make the possession of a "conversion kit" a public nuisance, authorize civil and criminal penalties and require surrendering the conversion kit. According to this bill, a conversion kit is any combination of parts that, when affixed to a firearm with a fixed magazine, are designed and intended to convert that firearm into an “assault weapon” as defined in the bill.

The only alternative left to us will soon be to stop being “law abiding” citizens.

Constitutionalist who live in Klownifornia should stage an armed march on Sacramento. A few hundred thousand angry, armed citizens might make an impression on a few dozen LGBT poofs in the statehouse.

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against... We’re after power and we mean it... There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals.

Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.” (Atlas Shrugged 1957)

Another example of Calif chicanery.

The original bill was totally an ‘agricultural’ bill.

It got passed & then GOT GUTTED & turned into an anti gun bill.

This should be unlawful.

Would be more for the rest of us.

Someone will just build a fixed mag hi cap lower that takes stripper clips.
Pop the rear receiver pin, tilt the upper forward, install stripper clip and charge the weapon. Voila!

other magazine-fed semi-automatic firearms that currently use "bullet buttons" or other tools to restrict the removal of the magazine

I think of myself as relatively gun-savvy, but I don't know what they're getting at with the bullet button thing. Can someone explain?

The mag release on Ca legal Hi caps has been removed so that you cant just drop a mag out with your finger and slap on another mag.
Smart manufacturers replaced it with a recessed release that could be actuated with the tip of a bullet so that you could still remove the mag for cleaning and be within the letter of the law.

When they outlawed “assault” (cf their definition) rifles, one of the criteria happened to be an external/quick mag release. So, californians devised a “button” that requires using something with a sharp tip to release the mag. Something like a pointed bullet. Hence, the “bullet” button.

The coalition that is busily conquering Western Civilization without resistance is terrified that Euro American Christians own guns. The coalition cannot fully commence the total wealth transfer, reaping of the little boys, rape the women, burn the churches(the sack!) until any chance of effective resistance is removed. After all there may be a few Euro Americans left who are spiritually able to fight.
