Krauthammer: Israelis will attack Iran if they think Obama will win re-election
Daily Caller ^ | Krauthammer

Posted on 07/09/2012 3:45:06 AM PDT by MindBender26

On Friday’s “Special Report,” Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer warned that Americans should expect Israel to attack Iran if President Barack Obama’s re-election appears likely.

Krauthammer explained that there could be a punitive response from the Obama administration, which would be less likely before he is re-elected.

“If they think Obama will win reelection I think it’s likely they will attack before, because afterwards there is no way to tell how Obama would punish Israel and they would be vulnerable to sanctions and other measure of the United States,” he said.

Krauthammer reminded viewers of the time frame advanced by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta earlier this year, and explained how that is a sign that “the clock is running.”

“The window is between now — remember, the Secretary of Defense said earlier in year that Israel would have attacked by now, attack in April, May, June,” he continued.

“The clock is running. They are simply waiting to make sure that the sham negotiations are declared over, rather than put on life support — to say all options have been tried and now we have to defend ourselves.”

Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

We have Obama now. If they attack they face the same thing they will face later if they attack.

I too believe Obama will abandon Israel, but what is the difference if he abandons them now or later if re-elected.

I am hoping we have a former ally coming to the aid of a stricken America held hostage by an usurper. For the east coast the British would be welcomed with open arms by red states opposing Obamataxcare and are about to be put on a Federal lockdown.

On the west coast the Japanese Navy arrives in Hawaii and is given a free pass to continue to San Fransisco, their goal is to arrest Nancy Pelosi and to shut down the mass arming of IRS agents that are becoming quite literally the gestapo.

History could very well repeat itself, what was our enemies over 200 years and in the last century will now seek to become trusted allies.

If he abandons them before the election, he risks losing the Jewish vote, which may be enough to change the results.

Obama has ALREADY abandoned Israel and has lost some Jewish votes because of it. But, facing a close Election, he would not want to risk alienating more of his Jewish supporters by punishing Israel for attacking his Muslim brothers in Iran.

Why do people like Krauthammer not run for president? Answer: They are too smart and the American electorate is too dumb. I know there are those who will say Krauthammer’s just a RINO; well, if so, he’s my kind of RINO.

Huge difference. He will have to be restrained in how he reacts if it is before the election as he will know a strong reaction will likely then cause him to lose the election.

After the election, O becomes the tyrant/dictator he has always wanted to be as he will have no restraints.

And if this nation re-elects him - we deserve everything we will get.

If he’s re-elected, Nicaragua with it’s communist dictator Ortega - now for life - might be a freer place to live than here........

Well, there`d be something to that, if American Jews gave two sh*ts about Israel. They`re far more interested in keeping their beloved dems in power, Israel be damned.

So now Krauthammer has bought a square in the five year old (at least!) “when will Israel attack Iran??” office pool.

This is news?

I’m surprised there’s still squares left to buy, ‘cause it seems like every pundit who can type is already in. Maybe due to the demand they started a new sheet of squares.

Wake me up when Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Barak buy *their* squares, ‘k? :-)

He is pro choice, pro fetal stem cell research, he is anti gun and he loves big government. Blind support without knowledge leads to presidents like obama. krauthammer is not qualified to run for president... regardless of his IQ.

Oh, and he is not that smart... election night 2008 he and fred barnes predicted and pledged that obama would govern as a centrist... I am not so certain that “raised as a dim in a dim family” krauthammer didn't vote for obamao.

IMO any American Jew that would vote for Obama now is Anti-Israel and I doubt anything would change their mind including Obama abandoning Isreal.

Jews are not ignorant of what is going on.
They have seen Obama and his support of Palestinians and the Muslim Brotherhood. They have seen Obama bring the Muslim into power in Egypt and Libya and his attempt to bring them in power in Syria. They have watched as Muslims are surrounding Israel with Muslim Brotherhood regimes.
If American Jews will still vote for Obama now they certainly have no qualms about voting for him after the destruction of Israel, since they have endorsed that destruction by voting for him now.

Now a lot of Jewish Americans here in Free Republic may not see it that way and argue, but their support for Obama tells the story.

Support Obama support the destruction of Israel and the destruction of the United States.

Until a minuter ago I thought he was born in Canada which would have been a huge problem (turns out was born here but *raised* in Canada).Running for President, never mind *serving* as President, would be incredibly grueling for a guy with his disabilities...and can you imagine the campaign ads the Rats would run on the subject of "strength" and "vigor".Add to that the ads they'd run in the South about "the Joooos"...

So he was wrong about Bam. Smart does not mean perfect. But if he voted for Obama, and I agree that in his delusion of a centrist Obama he may have, that would be unforgivable to me.All of that notwithstanding, he does sound like a smart conservative most of the time.

I was imagining a physically unimpaired Krauthammer. Not ready for a first Jewish president? You’re probably right. Only conservatives would vote for him. Most Jews probably wouldn’t vote for him. I did say the electorate is too dumb for really smart (and capable) candidates.

You listed his liberal positions. A comparable list could be compiled of conservative ones. So he is a mixed bag. Of course I never said he wasn’t.

It's plainly obvious to those with an IQ above 60 that a) the mullahs *are* developing a nuke and b) these “negotiations” are a stalling tactic by the mullahs.Jews were powerless to stop the author of Mein Kampf and we know how *that* turned out.Today's Jews are anything but powerless and they've carefully read the addendum to Mein Kampf, this time published in Farsi.”Condemnation” by the likes of Osama Obama and Eurabia,I suspect,is a price Israel is willing to pay for survival.
