US-born kids of migrants lose rights in Mexico
AP via Yahoo News ^ | 7/18/12 | ADRIANA GOMEZ LICON

One by one, the parents filed inside, sat down before a Mexican government worker and told stories of lives that had crossed the U.S.-Mexico border twice. First, they crossed illegally into the United States for work, found jobs, and had children. Then, they were caught and deported, or left on their own as the work dried up with the U.S. economic slump. Now they are back in Mexico with children who are American citizens by virtue of being born on U.S. soil.

Because of the byzantine rules of Mexican and U.S. bureaucracies, tens of thousands of those children without Mexican citizenship now find themselves without access to basic services in Mexico — unable to officially register in school or sign up for health care at public hospitals and clinics that give free check-ups and medicines.

I think Rush would call this ‘too clever by half.’ They thought they had pulled one over on the US by dropping babies over here and found themselves with unexpected consequences. It is best in life to live honestly rather than living by a scam scheme.

If we really wanted to see Mexico howl in (un)righteous indignation - we should implement THEIR illegal alien policy.

If we treated them like they treat Guatemalans and other central and South Americans illegally in Mexico - it would OBVIOUSLY be racist!

This is done precisely to keep these kids from going back to Mexico thereby arousing pity for these kids in the American public.

No. This is really clever. This will create more whiners and campaigning for more amnesty in America. Mexico knows this.

So Mexico aids their people in crossing to the U.S. illegally, but they won't allow the children of their own citizens born in a foreign country to be treated like citizens? Well, of course that's because they want the U.S. to take care of them.

Hypocrites.

“...children who are American citizens by virtue of being born on U.S. soil.”

THIS interpratation of the law needs to be changed.

We need billboards with that on them!!

Maybe Congress should pass a law that when illegal immigrants are caught, their employers should have to raise their family (wife & kids) with NO government assistance! After all, they probably paid them cash and for the most part it was all under the table wages and THEY know it. Cannot tell you how many construction companies and others that hire illegals send out hundreds of W-2’s only to have them returned to sender. They laugh about it running to the bank with all their big profits.

We need to stop those people from entering our country for their (and their future children's) own sake. It would be cruel, heartless, yes even racist to let them do this to themselves and thier kids.

Mine the border to protect them....

This just proves that the Government of Mexico has been actively participating in the migration that has been happening for years. In spite of their official denials, it is obvious that they have been facilitating the migration, and now have shown that they are preventing the return.

You just have to wonder how long before the Indian/Mexicans turn against the White Spaniard leadership. Their money won’t protect them from another revolucion.

Good, maybe this will put a halt to the threats my Sisters Freeloading In-Laws bring up every time they disagree with her something about. I fear they will try to take my Niece to Mexico, even though she is an American.

F'n Mexico is trying to make certain Fox's "little brown ones" stay put north of the border where the free stuff is still available. Just be sure to keep those wire transfers coming.

What miserable luck that we have a kleptocracy as a neighbor.
