People were upset that ABC news was saying the kid could have been a Tea Partier and now we are doing the same thing. This should not have anything at all to do with politics and show what it really is. A kid who is sick in the head PERIOD.

Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

The sad fact is, whatever the initial narrative is, is the one that winds up sticking, even if it is debunked later on.

You're right... but if this turns out to be true, it should be THE retort to every false piece of blather about Holmes having connections to the Tea Party. When contending with the left, only the firehose of truth will put out their lies. The leftards' blaming of Sarah Palin for the Giffords shooting was despicable. The enemy can't be allowed to slide by uncontested.

I don’t think ANYONE here wants to go down this road.

This is purely defense to prevent these nutters from trying to use these deaths as a political opportunity.

Once they back off, then this stops.

I believe if you read the Breitbart piece they are using obsurdity to point out obsurdity.

The motivation of the shooter does matter.

There is a difference between pointing out that the killer is an OWSer & demonrat(if that does turn out to be confirmed) to dispute the false narrative that's he's a tea-partier and saying that this proves all OWSers and demonrats are mad-dog killers. That's the leap the mainstream media take, but I'm not seeing that here.

ABC tries to hang the shooting around the neck of the Tea Party and Breitbart goes out and finds out the nutter may actually be registered as a Democrat. In what universe is it wrong for Breitbart to report actual facts that contradict the propaganda being put out by ABC? Or maybe you just think it is wrong because you believe Americans are too stupid to understand why Breitbart is doing what it is doing?

I have to differ with you, napscoordinator and the other people on here who say that doesn’t matter.

It DOES matter. The problem is, we may take the “high road” and make a distinction between the person, the act, and political persuasion, but I guarantee you, THEY will not.

Not only will they link the person, the act, and the political leanings of the perpetrator together, they will unfailingly do it to the detriment of anything to the right of Nancy Pelosi, REGARDLESS of the facts.

We saw it already, if accounts are to be believed. A major news outlet already tied the perpetrator to the right.

Even if they came out ten minutes later and said they were mistaken, it is the equivalent of an above the fold banner on the New York Times followed by a one sentence retraction (if even that) on page 9, buried in the classifieds.

And you know, no matter what, there will be a majority of liberals who will screw their foreheads in puzzlement when presented with the truth, who will mutter (and still believe it in their hearts) “Well, they said the guy was a Tea Party disciple on the news...that was all I ever heard...”

A lie travels around the world before the truth gets its trousers on.

As for the people who claim there are nuts on both sides of the political spectrum, I cannot disagree with that, but the right cannot hold a candle to the left when when it comes to violence. And that is a fact.

The reason I think it is important, is because we are in a fight for our country, and I believe we are losing. We are losing on every front. Conservatives are holding their fingers in the dikes on one side, and on the other side is a vast body of water composed of committed liberals, good hearted but misguided people, and people who don’t give a damn and go along with all the rest.

That body of people provides a persistent, relentless, erosive and destructive pressure on the other side of the dike. We have to be vigilant and ready to fight 24 x 7. One lapse, and socialized healthcare starts leaking through. Fall asleep for a second, and homosexuals in the military are authorized to march in uniforms in homosexual parades. Look away for an instant, and the Law of the Sea treaty passes.

They don’t have to be on guard. They can sleep, go on vacation and enjoy themselves. When they return to apply more hydraulic pressure on the dike, it is as if they never left. It is a one-way ratchet in the wrong direction.

I don’t think we can afford to cede ground to them, because we don’t get it back. Everything so far that has been lost, stays lost and ruined.

I believe that we have to recognize that they don’t observe any rules, except one: Any means are justified by the end.

To the Left, that is a blanket rule the overrules every single other rule. Concepts, guidelines and rules of government, morality, religion and decency all are subjugated to the end, and rationalized by the left. How many times have you heard leftists use the quote (from Robespierre or Stalin depending on whom you belive) “You can’t make an omlette without breaking a few eggs.”? The possibility that it could be either Stalin or Robespierre wouldn’t faze liberals a bit. In their minds, the omlette is tyranny, and the eggs are anything that stands in their way.

I admit, I am conflicted. I cannot bring myself to play by their rules, and am not going to just have a knee jerk reflex that says it was a liberal that did this, simply because they said it was a conservative.

But, I am not yet willing to surrender the field to them on matters like this. We don’t have to engage in falsehoods. But we should be willing to speak the truth.

I agree with the last sentence, but we are not doing what they did. Apparently, our side actually did some homework. ABC clearly had an agenda.

1) we do not yet know what this was about. It is certainly suggestive that this movie’s villain uses Occupy rhetoric and paints that movement in a bad light but we do not yet know if ideology has any bearing in this.

2) I doubt that many of us would go public with equivalent claims as did ABC without more certainty.

This is just speculation at this point.

PERIOD? A big STOP on the talking about the obvious. If you can't handle any more info - go find out more about your TV stars.

You kidding? Read some of the threads from here today.

There were about about 10 people on this site all day, suggesting, implying and telling all the shooter part of a violent "Black Bloc" team, stemming from the Occupy movement.

It was disgusting...No proof, no links, absolutely no evidence of this.

These people are hysterical fools in my book, doing nothing but spreading false BS rumors. If it were my site, I would have thrown them out the door.

Thank you! Life is not a game of “gotcha.” People need to try to stop one-upping each other like some sick psychopath is representative of any particular ideology, I promise all sides of the equation have their respective nutjobs, my thoughts and prayers go out to all those in Aurora affected by this, the dead, the wounded, their friends, families and neighbors, I am incredibly saddened by this tragic turn of events.

Wrong, pathetically wrong. We're in a life and death struggle against pure evil. We put them down at every turn. If that takes us to their level shame on us. We should be far, far, beneath their level. If you're worried about honor then go to church. The rest of us are fighting for our (and your) lives.
