Syrian refugees started a riot in a Gaziantep refugee camp today, taking down the Turkish flag and replacing it with their own, Doğan news agency reported.

Syrian refugees at the site began protesting about the 1,500 Turkmen refugees that had been added to the camp, precipitating a verbal argument with security officials. The row soon escalated into a riot as hundreds of Syrians took Turkish police officers hostage and seized their guns. The Turkish flag at the entrance was taken down and refugees replaced it with their own.

Syrian refugees also heavily damaged the central building nearby while destroying computers and crime-scene vehicles on the scene. Local authorities immediately asked for back up.

Special forces soon arrived and entered the camp, dispersing the rioters. Turkish citizens also tried to intervene but were prevented from doing so by security officials.

Turkish citizens quickly took down the Syrian opposition flag, replacing it with the original Turkish one.

Syrian trouble makers in Turkey. They have also been seizing border crossings and looting the supply Turkish supply trucks. The Turkish govt is sending in more troops to the area, to sort them out.

I never liked this rebel movement in Syria. I am suspicious of them. If they want to win this fight, they should do it with no help from the outside world. Turkey is already regetting helping them.

I wonder what the Armenian community thinks of all this. There is a significant Armenian community in Syria, and they have some beautiful churches in Damascus and Aleppo.

Quite a restrained statement on your part, gorush!

Indeed, it may not ...

In other news, the Syrian rebels who captured posts along the Turkish border:

On Tuesday, rebels took control of the Jarabulus border post, north of Lake Assad in Aleppo province. Rebel forces gained control of the Bab al-Hawa crossing on Thursday, but on Saturday, a group of some 150 foreign fighters were in control of the post, an AFP photographer said.

A lot of these people are not even Syrian. So ... who are they? Some fighters said they belonged to Al-Qa'ida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), while others claimed allegiance to a group called Shura Taliban.

The Turks are usually no one to ply around with.

maybe they have grown soft, but I suspect the Syrians will be marched back to Syria. I know that’s what I would do.

The last time these groups acted up, they tried to rise up in Jordan and Syria. This led to 30,000 of them being killed, the rest being driven out and given the moniker of Palestinians, and a small group of them invading the Olympics.

This will help Erdogan with his war plans, although it will divide Turkish society.
