People say he has a mental illness. I think he’s on drugs.
Looks like he’ll go for the insanity defense. I wonder if that was part of his plan all along......
That should discourage others!
Wonder what he thinks he has accomplished.
Execcute the piece of crap.
He seems like he is close to passing out. I wonder if they have him on heavy psychotropic drugs? Well, I hope it was worth if for him; certainly was not for his innocent victims.
Not a hell of a lot. And he will have decades to ponder it...
The orange hair must have given him some kind of altered identity boost. Short lived though; he looks like he has come back to reality with a jolt.
He mailed a suspicious package to the University of Colorado, admissions office. It was/is being handled by authorities this morning. (according to people on the scene)
This little parasite just keeps on...It will be a big deal if he did not alert authorities to this after his capture.
Good luck with that insanity defense. He showed a clear thought pattern in planning intricate details, compiling his arsenal and protective gear and executing it. He also trip wired his apartment with lethal explosives.
He demonstrates a clear pattern of rational thought and intent. His mind is clearly wrong, but the records clearly demonstrates that he did not act in a manner consistent with a diagnosis of insanity.
I’m curious to see what the blood toxicology reports show.
He's probably thinking "My handlers said it would never come to this."
Yes, just as with his booby-trapped apartment. He wanted to make a big statement. I wonder what his point is, though?
Makes you sort of wonder about the guys who make it through the program, get their PhDs and MDs, and now practice, until they get short changed by ObamaCare. Something to think about while in that waiting room all alone....
...”People say he has a mental illness. I think hes on drugs.”...
I think he was highly sedated.
They will keep him doped up throughout the trial. They do not want this guy to appear normal.
Guilty by insanity.
Acute schizophrenia is when a previously healthy person, generally a young adult, shows increasingly odd behavior over a fairly short period of time of perhaps a few weeks.
Holmes may fit into the diagnostic pattern of rapid onset.
A noticeable symptom is that cognitive abilities suddenly and severely drop. He was doing very well in school and suddenly his grades plummeted.
Often there is a stress related “trigger” to a violent outburst. Holmes had just broken up with his girlfriend, and was about to be evicted from his university provided apartment, at the end of a 30 day grace period after dropping out of the graduate program.
He was also deeply involved in MMORPG role playing games, like World of Warcraft. While it is unlikely this caused his condition or made it worse, it might have been much easier for his mind to grasp “that reality” in a schizophrenic state. Simpler rules than real life.
Excellent analysis. I think you are probably right on all counts. He had a rapid onset of schizophrenic symptoms and triggers caused a complete psychotic break. If only he had had a period of hospitalization and medication before acting out. It is sad all the way around. He was young and talented and his life is over, and so are the lives of innocent people and children who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
