Perkins: Google Trying to 'Destroy' Values with Gay Rights Initiative, Should Expect 'Blow Back'
Right Wing Watch ^ | July 23 2012 | Brian Tashman

On his daily radio bulletin, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins joined other Religious Right activists in condemning Google for its Legalize Love campaign to advocate against laws criminalizing homosexuality.

“Thanks to a new campaign, Google's approach to traditional values is to search—and destroy,” Perkins said, and later baselessly claimed that companies which favor gay rights “take a financial hit” and warned that Google “shouldn’t be surprised by the blow back” for its decision. After defending countries that criminalize homosexuality, Perkins said that “political neutrality is what most users are searching for,” even though the FRC lauds and commends companies like Chik-fil-A which get involved in political efforts opposing gay rights.

Earlier, the American Family Association’s Buster Wilson weighed a Google boycott and Janet Porter of Faith2Action urged listeners to stop making Google searches and using Gmail.

Even though this is written by a right wing watch, I still am glad to hear that some people will at least try for a blowback against Google et al.

Unfortunate choice of words.

'Blow Back'

Holy mixed-metaphors, batman!

speaking of all that, when these pipesmokers get into power, they're gonna become the snippy, vindictive bitches they all are inside.

It's gonna get ugly.

I think it's some company that has been mentioned on some of the News Corp Fox stations, but I'm not sure because these days, my remote seems to skip right over them....

I am completely opposed to laws outlawing homosexuality, I do not believe in victimless crimes in general, and gays need to be saved not jailed, certainly not hanged like in Iran. Still, this is part of a slow but accelerating trend of public acceptance of homosexuality and censure of opposing views.

I’m with you on all of that. In a democracy, people must be free to live as they choose. I never wished them any harm, until they became obnoxious and overbearing, and tried to eclipse and obscure any dissenters.

They are a subsidiary of You-Tube, thus it is hard to avoid them, but we will try. They also provide some search engine and email service (while allegedly compromising your privacy as they mine for data), but those services are relatively easy to eschew.

"gay rights."

Gays (homosexuals) have the same rights as I do if they live in America.

Very hard to get away from lib control of the internet. 1984 is coming, the noose is tightening.

I use goodsearch, although that is powered by Yahoo, which has a superlib CEO who bundles for Obama. But I do contribute to the tea party with it, so at least I can undo SOME of the damage.

http://www.goodsearch.com/

It’s a good site, and there are lots of more conservative causes to give to.

I have been using www.blekko.com lately. Good search engine without the celebration of sodomy.
