Virgil Goode submits 14,000 signatures for ballot, with help from Independent Greens
Virginia Politics ^

Posted on 07/25/2012 6:30:17 PM PDT by mnehring

With a little help from his friends, former congressman Virgil Goode has taken a key step toward getting his name on November’s presidential ballot in Virginia, submitting more than 14,000 signatures to the State Board of Elections....

..Goode was a Democrat for much of his career, then became an Independent and finally a Republican for his last six years on Capitol Hill. Now Goode is getting assistance from yet another party, the Independent Greens, whose members have collected thousands of signatures for him....

...“Virgil supports rail, and that’s our big issue and he’s with us on that,” said Carey Campbell, a member of the Independent Greens executive committee. “We’ve had for many years a good relationship with the Constitution Party folks.”...

No matter how you slice n dice it, a vote for Virgil is a vote to keep the current POS in the W.H. There is no if, ands, or buts.

I am voting for idiot Romney, but what you say is SO unfair. There clearly is no right to vote in America. You vote for who the jerks put up in your party no matter who they are. What choice is that. No wonder things are a mess. I tell you that if Mayor Bloomberg won the Republican National Nomination, everyone would be demanding that we vote for Bloomberg of all people.....It is a complete and utter mess.

"I’m voting to oust the communist despot who hates this country."

And replace him with a Socialist despot whose ego and sense of entitlement is bigger than America.

Willard does need to drop out, or be run out BEFORE or at the convention. Then we can replace him with Gov. Scott Walker, a Conservative superstar who will unite and electrify the base, not divide it.

Don’t get suckered. Maryland will go for Zero, regardless. Vote your conscience.

(BTW, Bloomberg is well to the right of Willard, and that’s really telling... I wouldn’t be surprised if the party establishment tries to run that Napoleonic imbecile in 2016)

Each person should vote for the person he or she thinks will make the best president. It's important that you be proud of your vote.

If you like Goode, vote for him.

If Romney's your man, go for it.

I like Tom Hoefling and I think you ought to check out his website before you make a final decision.

Be proud of your vote! If you find yourself badmouthing your own candidate, find another one, one you can be proud to support. People died for your right to vote. It's too important to throw away on someone you really don't believe in.

Sorry, dude. I don’t vote for Communists like Zero. I don’t vote for Socialists like your beloved idol, Willard, either. I vote for Conservatives.

I don’t have a clue who Virgil Goode is. I’d have to do alot more research before I pull the lever just because somebody said so.

Frankly I don’t know what I’m going to do in November, other than focus on trying to kick out Cantwell and send Dick Muri to congress.

There’s a difference between voting third party in a state where the outcome is already decided and voting third party in a state where it could affect the outcome.

I really don’t care what Virgil Goode’s politics are, he’s acting as a spoiler, just like Ross Perot. It’s too late to have any chance of winning the election, so he must have another agenda. What is it?

I may not be crazy about Mitt Romney, but I don’t think that this country can withstand another four years of Barack Obama. This is an Anyone But Obama election, but that Anyone has been determined for us by the press and the establishment Republicans. It is unfortunate, but it is what it is and we must deal with it the best that we can, even if that means voting for Mitt Romney.

Defeat Obama!

You’re an honest conservative, SiS.

Good hunting in your research.

Keep the faith!

Goode is not an enemy of Israel.

As for Israel, God is able to take care of Israel in the face of Obama. I know Obama is a mighty opponent for God, what with executive orders and all, but I’m betting God can take him at least 2 out of 3 rounds.

You actually raise an interesting theological question, though, alice, and it deserves a serious response.

Should we do evil by supporting an evil man(Romney) to bring about a good result (support for Israel)?

I think the Apostle Paul answers the question in Romans 3:8:

” 8 Why not say—as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say—”Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is deserved.”

As you can see, Paul thought that line of thought deserved to be condemned.

He is also the one who said “So, all Israel shall be saved.”

McCain... but SOLELY because I expected the SOB to drop dead in office and allow Palin to succeed him. Had he chosen either Lieberman (his FIRST choice for VP) or Willard, I would’ve (presumably) voted for Bob Barr (though I didn’t ponder doing so at the time). There is absolutely no one that vile Socialist abomination Willard could pick for a running mate that I would cast for him. Nothing and no one will change my mind. 2008 was the last straw.

P.S. Don’t you fret none, Glock. My state will vote for whomever the GOP nominee is, no matter how disgustingly horrid. Zero carried all of 6 counties to McCain’s 89 in 2008.

Mitt Romney needs to drop out of the race and throw his support to Virgil Goode NOW.

That will not happen. Period. He has the electoral votes, he will be the nominee, he will not drop out in favor of someone 99% of the country has never heard of.

There is not much we can do about Romney now. 9,809,662 Republicans have spoken and in order to defeat Zer0, we will have to go with the program as delivered to us by the democratic process.

Well, I was being rather tongue in cheek, but all the same, it's a shame onservatives are so mentally boxed in that they can't figure out that maybe the better way is to bust our humps to make the rest of the country hear about a real conservative, rather than resigning ourselves to yet another milquetoast socialist ninny.

The fact remains.....you didn’t do enough to get your candidate the nomination. And you claim you voted for mccain in 08........so you weren’t willing to give obama a chance then, but now....after seeing the damage he’s done, you’re willing to give him 4 more years.......

So what make someone go from being well respected and distinguished to helping the enemy? I’ve read about General Arnold and how he felt slighted and disrespected and how that caused him to work for English. Is it like that?
