They are underwater bridges across a major seaport, do you think they should be free? I live on the Southwest side of the state and I don’t want to pay for Va Beach and NOVA growth problems. You guys keep building houses further and further out and wonder why you have traffic problems.

We just had one of those enormous earthquakes so we will keep building 1 and 2 story dwellings. It seems prudent. Really.

The folks in Hampton Roads pay gasoline and income taxes, too. Lots and lots of them. Be that as it may, I agree with you in theory: I generally prefer user fees to taxes.

The problem is that Hampton Roads is solidly against the tolls. And they identify Tollbooth Bob as the culprit.
