Chick-Fil-A protest could boomerang
Miami Herald ^ | July 30 2012 | Glenn Garvin

Posted on 07/30/2012 4:40:04 PM PDT by scottjewell

...Progressive politicians from coast to coast were lining up last week to keep Chick-Fil-A’s...restaurants out of their towns after the company’s president... made statements that [he supports traditional marriage]. . .

Chicago alderman Joe Moreno, called Cathy “bigoted” and “homophobic” and added: “Because of this man’s ignorance, I will now be denying Chick-Fil-A’s permit to open a restaurant in the 1st Ward.” Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said that goes for the entire city: “Chick-Fil-A values are not Chicago values.”.........

You know who the big loser will be in that scenario?

Progressives and their companies. Because, like it or not, they’re the ones who don’t share majority values.

Across America, the right to gay marriage has appeared on the ballot 32 times over the past few years, and it has lost every single time. Only six states and the District of Columbia issue licenses for same-sex marriages...

If pandering progressive politicians are allowed to put Chick-Fil-A out of business, you can bet that the folks on the other side will be doing the same to Amazon.com, whose founders just donated $2.5 million to support a gay-marriage initiative in Washington State.

Say so long to Oreos (Nabisco, earlier this summer, put them in a bag featuring a cookie with a multicolored gay-pride stuffing) as well as Cheerios, Pillsbury pastries and Green Giant vegetables (owner General Mills is opposing a Minnesota constituional amendment that would outlaw gay marriage). JC Penney, which has put pictures of gay dads in its catalogs and uses Ellen Degeneres as its spokeswoman, will be history. And we’ll all be living in Murfreesboro.

Maybe a few will learn from this.

The press makes it look like everyone in a large city believes 'if it feels good, do it'... that there aren't morals or decent people, but there are. Even in large cities.

The implication that only liberal elites live in large cities is a lie. Everyday families live in big cities... Most large city blacks and whites don't believe in gay marriage. Most Hispanics don't either.

Chick fil A can put a sign on their door saying 'We believe in traditional marriage' and they'll have plenty of business everywhere in the US expect San Francisco... Time to stop believing liberal lies...

Didn’t know that, Rummy. Thanks for letting me know that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

Might I assume this particular apple is old enough to have morals taught before the middle of the last century?

Maybe we should discuss the difference between Chicago values and “old-fashioned” morals, and then what happens to an “anything goes” Sodom and Gomorrah city - where murder is a constant, and virtue is absent?

Don’t mean to pick on you, because I know you were just informing me of my error, but my heart is breaking at the chaos and immorality taking over in our public square.

Nothing is sacred any more, and how do we now teach our children right from wrong, when to do so labels us as suspect by our own government?

“———how to make Chick-Fil-A at home so you don’t have to go there. “

==

Most of us go out to eat so we don’t HAVE to cook. Having the recipe won’t affect most folks.

By the word of God, by righteous example, by home-schooling, civil disobedience and any/every right means necessary.

Acts 4:18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. 21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

“Kenji” was quite disingenuous to include his politics in the article and then say that others shouldn’t comment on the politics of the situation. The comment after yours was good, too.

So it’s a challenge for a nation to espouse religious freedom to boot the Islamists out. That’ll require some cajones on someone’s part.

Ours.

"We need to replace the term “progressive” with “regressive"

Fascinating, I was just telling someone the same thing a few hours ago!

I can attest to the truth of what you say. Before this nonsense began I had never heard of Chick Fil A. The nearest one to my home is 25 miles away but I am making a special trip there on August 1st and have managed to convince 5 of my neighbors to go with us and support the “Buycott”.

As the saying goes,”Say what you want about me but just spell my name correctly”

Chick-fil-A needs to implement an online gift card program. Sales would go through the roof.

I went to Chick Fil A last night....YUMMMMM!!!! I love it. I have gone twice with the whole family since this witch hunt. Six in my family so we have spent 100 bucks SO FAR. Before this, we went maybe once every six months (kinda inconvenience for us) but we will be going AT least once a week.

They have some very good shakes (cookies and cream is the best) and they have some ice cream treats they have been advertising. ;-)
