T-SPLOST (Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) looks to be going down in flames.

There were tons and tons of self-interested parties to the advocacy for this tax. Both radio personalities, TV personalities, politicians, etc. Builders, contractors, developers. They all had one thing in common - they want to use OTHER PEOPLE's MONEY for THEIR pet desires or to just plain put money in their pocket.

Besides the political capital that was expended on this, there were some very serious dollar amounts spent to push this piece of crap off on the taxpayers. They got shown the door, at least on this issue.

Mark my words, they will be back in a year or two with some warmed-over pablum like TSPLOST, but just enough different (after studying the polling) to hopefully pass.

My last comment? We're gonna hear now, for the next 6-12 months about how this intersection, or that bridge could have been fixed, if only.......subtle recriminations, threats and all-round sore loser syndrome is next. Remember this when you hear it and remember it the next time they go for your pocket.
