Chick-fil-A 'kiss in' protest tries to challenge appreciation day

Two days after backers of Chick-fil-A converged on locations around the nation in support, gay rights backers plan to strike back with a decidedly different kind of activism.

Activists are planning a "National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A" on Friday. As part of the event, couples are encouraged to go one of the chicken restaurant's locations and take a photo or video of themselves kissing.

It remains unclear whether this protest will generate the huge crowds that turned out Wednesday to a show of support for the company's CEO, who ignited a national debate by publicly expressing his opposition to same-sex marriage.

As of Thursday evening, a few people had posted photos on the "Kiss Day" website.

"Let's show Chick-fil-A thanks for their support of Love, Equality, and the Real Definition of Marriage! Invite your friends!" organizers said on its Facebook page.

The move comes after thousands of restaurant supporters came out to back the CEO's stance. In some cases, there were long lines at locations.

I meant to mention that too, but there was so much other work to do.....LOL.

LOL!

I love these 'Unattributed' articles. From the way they're written, I think someone goes home and tells their ten year old - "Write me something about _____".

:-)

Have any Gay folks kissed inside a Chick-fil-A restaurant thus far today?

None that I've read about. Making news ain't what it used to be ;)

Numerically they could, indeed produce the crowds at some of the stores if they are willing to travel long distances so as to congregate at the target establishments. They cannot count on their liberal less-than-queer allies to join them in the kissing part because hetero leftists are still hetero and, regardless of their claims and protestations, very few are comfortable with demonstrating homosexuality.

“I see Republicans take too many conservative looking stands (since Boehner took the House) that they dont seem serious about trying to fight and win. It leaves me with the belief that those positions are meant to be symbolic stands to ward off primary challenges to cover up the vREAL BILLS that they are passing that actually goes into law, and those symbolic ‘conservative;’ bills are not meant by them to ever be law, or even debated with Dems during the general election. So I wonder if they even believe in them.”

They don’t believe in them, they are just con jobs. Time to clean house!

I know. On facebook they were suggesting to straight friends to come and kiss each other (same sex) as a show of support. I think it drove those friends to reconsider.

” Well let’s look at the second possibility closer and gilb0 will appreciate this, the us-versus-them mode that the parties get most of their own voters into by preaching that the other side is evil lends itself to Republicans (or Dems with their Lib issues) convincing them (voters) that they (the party)really want to pass these conservative things but were foiled by the evil other side. So it is the voters and MSM fault because the party doesnt have enough power.
Of course when Republicans DID have the congress and the POTUS 2005 to 2006 the stuff they did pass was hardly gold. But they are different now so trust them, again

I recall a popular Republican excuse here for GWB supporting and signing liberal type bills with Democrats was “...but Democrats wanted Bush to do that....” . Another was “If he didnt do that the Democrats would have attacked him”.

I never found theses excuses very convincing. “

RINO/GOPe/House & Senate = Charley Brown/football/Lucy = NO cigar!!

Homosexuals are going to demonstrate their aversion to buying from Chik-Fil-A. They will get nothing more than satisfaction at annoying the employees. The chain cannot get enough homosexual traffic to make up for a tiny fraction of the traffic thew will lose by caving in.The only way the company can be brought to heel is for the kenyan to sic IRS on them and for Soros et al to finance a slew of lawsuits for whatever they can think of. I do expect the lawsuits and, after a decent interval, the IRS and the perpetual audit that Clinton made famous.

us-versus-them mode that the parties get most of their own voters into by preaching that the other side is evil

the other side is evil, [as are most all politicians, eventually] but only a tad bit more than *our* side...hence we must hold our noses or we will be overwhelmed by *pure* evil of the left...

and if you refuse, youre voting *for* the other guy...

Republican excuse here for GWB supporting and signing liberal type bills with Democrats was ...

i think my favorites were the ones that acknowledged Ws 'one world' leanings and excused those as trivial, ala the above 'lesser of evils' mantra...

that and how we must *compromise* in the name of good gubmint and to get 1% of reductions/improvements in policies while simultaneously giving away FReedom and leverage by the truckloads, ASSuming that a muslim commie would never hold the reins in the future...

in 2000, if it hadnt been for algore, i couldnt possibly have voted for W...likewise kerry in 04...mcqueeeeeeeeeq was a no brainer, and the addition of SP with limited background info available at the time [and the hopey for changey in mcqueeegs body temp] are the only reasons he even was considered...

fool me once, shame on you, fool me every election cycle in my adult voting life, i deserve the BS that either in power party will continuously feed me...the sh!t sammich is the house special...

Maybe because as Bernard Goldberg said, the media basically live a echo chamber where they only know liberal points of view and with little or no knowledge of the world outside.

Quite true. Media have become a self-deluded enclave.

That salad is tasty. Add the spicy dressing and I am a happy camper.

I do admit to breaking down and ordering waffle fries and the cheesy sauce. That cheesy sauce has me at chee.

This is NOT FAIR. I am hungry and dinner’s a long way off...
