Chick-fil-A 'kiss in' protest tries to challenge appreciation day
LA Times ^ | Aug 3 2012 | Unattributed

Two days after backers of Chick-fil-A converged on locations around the nation in support, gay rights backers plan to strike back with a decidedly different kind of activism.

Activists are planning a "National Same-Sex Kiss Day at Chick-fil-A" on Friday. As part of the event, couples are encouraged to go one of the chicken restaurant's locations and take a photo or video of themselves kissing.

It remains unclear whether this protest will generate the huge crowds that turned out Wednesday to a show of support for the company's CEO, who ignited a national debate by publicly expressing his opposition to same-sex marriage.

As of Thursday evening, a few people had posted photos on the "Kiss Day" website.

"Let's show Chick-fil-A thanks for their support of Love, Equality, and the Real Definition of Marriage! Invite your friends!" organizers said on its Facebook page.

The move comes after thousands of restaurant supporters came out to back the CEO's stance. In some cases, there were long lines at locations.

Stop! You are making me hungry! LOL

Too bad our nearest CFA is an hour away in W.Virginia. :(

On Monday, we were in Clarksville, IN, as we headed out of town from visiting my father-in-law in the hospital (triple bypass last week—doing well, BTW), we stopped at CFA and grabbed some lunch for our family of six. The place was packed, but we received our food in good time. Not a single bite of food went to waste among all of us (even my 8 y.o. daughter, who is not a big fan of chicken). It wasn’t cheap—$35, but that was all meals with drinks and fries, and it was SOOOOO good. I’ve always loved their food.

RE :” Maybe they should make a REAL more relevent statement and line up to commit sodomy in the bathrooms
....
That might make a strong statement. ;) In any case, I think they are going to need a larger group of protesters

Yep, I had some fun posting that.

But more seriously, this fight is one of the much more fun and easy ones because the issue revs up our side much more than theirs. The libs are not in agreement as to if they should attack the Chickfil business for the owners statements, especially one that's theme is family and Christian. Example, lib Matthews who is pro-gay marriage didnt like the threats to Chickfil. That is a split enemy.

Alternatively our side is not split at all on it and totally united, Even the weakest RINO has sympathy for ChickfilA.

In fact there is a bigger lesson here on how to pick (Political) battles if we want a series of easy wins.

This is a very good point. We need to be referring to homosexuals as “heterophobes” at every opportunity. Put them on the defensive for a change.

I encourage the gay community to hold a kiss in at Chick-fil-a.

It will no doubt further stoke the flames of the fire that we saw earlier this week during Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.

[ The gay community is so Heterophobic! ]

I like the term Heterophobic...

Should go to my local chik-fil-a and hold up a sign next to protesters that says: “End Hetrophobia: Eet Mor Chikin”

See if they even realize what I am doing.... It will prolly go over their heads like a DiHydrogen Monoxide joke...

It remains unclear whether this protest will generate the huge crowds

Since the homosexuals are about 2% of the population according to some surveys, it is unlikely they'll get even close to Wednesday's numbers.

To reiterate what everyone knows:

Chick-fil-A has an official position of non-discrimination toward anyone. CFA's owner, a religious man, in an interview with a religious radio station, said he supports traditional marriage (oh...what a shock!).

HE and his family own a private foundation called WinShape that offers marriage retreats and uses and supports a variety of pro-traditional marriage groups that align with their private purpose of strengthening traditional marriage.

Both his comments and his private foundation fall under free expression and religious freedom.

Compare this with JC Penny, whose corporation is running clothing advertisements with pro-homosexual family themes in prime time on the corporate dime.

A Chick-fil-A commercial has cows telling us to eat more chicken.

You tell me which one is using their corporation to advance their agenda.

takking the family there today.

The homostapo will be talking to local media and have a camera following their small groups and then these small groups will go to different locations all day thus making it look like they are more than they are in number.

That is why they don;t have a precise time around the country as they know they do not have the numbers like we do.

they know they don;t have the numbers, but will go to place to place in their group trying to make it look like they’re more.

How sad and pathetic that they do all of this, have parades, say they’re proud, want special rights, play families and all because of how they have their unhealthy unnatural sex.

Yes, the unity here is stunning.

And it is an excellent lesson for political battles; I fully agree.

Have any Gay folks kissed inside a Chick-fil-A restaurant thus far today? Have not seen any photos as of yet. Maybe, we’ll be treated to the Democrat, “dirt bag” Mayors of Chicago, Boston, San Francisco and Washington, DC having a kiss fest of there own inside a CFA restaurant? Yep, go to it Mr. Mayors, and....invite Barack Hussein Obama with you!!!

LOL just said the same.
They know they don’t have the numbers to do this all day at every location so yet again the media will follow wiht a camera, the homostapo will go to different locations, run into a place, do their butt kissing what ever and then move on out to another location.

Later the media will report that there were crowds at all locations but fail to report that the homostapo were going to place to place and did not have anywhere the numbers we did.

Hell look at all their coverage before they do their what baby tantrum actions .

To borrow a few liberal buzzwords: The “correct” political view is that a truly “enlightened” society will not “tolerate” that which destroys it. And embracing homosexuality will tear our social fabric apart just as surely as it has everytime it’s been accepted historically.

Menino (Mayor of Boston) isn't gay, but I think when they removed the growth from his nose, they acccidentally took out what was left of his brains.

Well, he IS a business man AND a Christian. Wow, wouldn't that be something. All the attorneys we have elected into office seem to all be focused on circumventing and destroying our constitution and the laws of our land. They need to be replaced by business men with higher standards than what we are seeing in our gov. today. We have made the bar too low for our elected officials and have come to the bottom of the pond.

It ‘breaks my heart’ to say it, but in my old Bronx neighborhood, guys kissed all the time...

Same as with the homo kiss-in, the results may not be healthy.
