Should someone be fired from their job and threatened with violence, torture, even death because they have an opinion different than yours? Of course not. And yet, that is what Adam M. Smith of Arizona says happened to him.

Adam Smith’s life has been turned upside-down in the 36 hours that followed his posting the video of his protest at Chick-fil-A, which involved letting a young, female employee at the drive-thru know what he thinks about the company.

He is the one who harassed a low-level employee who was just doing her job. He is the one who berated someone who has absolutely no input on company policy. He is the one who targeted a company that has never been accused of discrimination in hiring or in serving customers. And he is the one who documented his poor judgement on the web. And he is the one who embarrassed his employer that they had such a selfish, mean, self-important jerk in their company.

Trying to drum up a micro-gram of sympathy, trying, trying. Sorry, that request timed out.

He would never have been fired, except he was stupid enough to post a video of it on Youtube.

True, but it being made public gave them no choice because of how he conducted himself. Had he made his point in a reasonable manner, not abusive and condescending as he was, he may not have been fired. But he went overboard and that's what did him in.

It's bad enough for the CFO of a corporation to post a video of himself on Youtube, especially under such circumstances, it's unpardonable to show intolerance and overbearing disgust toward someone who isn't responsible for corporate policy or decisions. He should know better. He didn't, and he got what he deserved.

There is a woman listed on his property address.

SMITH ADAM M & AMY CP/RS

Don’t know what the CP/RS means.

He harassed an employee at Chick-fol-A and then he had the unbelievable stupidity to post the harrassment for the world to see.

A lot of things can be overlooked but gross stupidity in the top management ranks cannot be condoned.

A company cannot set a precedent that stupidity is ok. Otherwise, the management loses all of their rights to discipline employees.

SMITH IS A PANTY—picking on a girl. I’d like to see him waltz up to a 6’5” man whose sporting tattoos on his neck. We’ll see how tough Smith is.

The victimizer becomes the victimized. This daily parade of commie agitprop street theater is getting tiresome.

Except it was more than simply an opinion. It was his belligerent, bullying attitude and actions.

Uh, pardon the correction but it is a pet peeve of mine. I think you mean “know nothing” not “no nothing”.

No is the opposite of yes. Know is having the knowledge of a subject.

Thanks for listening.

As I see it, he was fired because his stunt, which he was stupid enough to film and post on YouTube, generated unwelcome publicity for his employer, possibly damaging that company's reputation in the community. Such bad publicity has the potential of reducing sales of the company's products, thereby decreasing profits and putting the business in danger of bankruptcy.

This is why employees and those looking for work are strongly advised to be careful what they post online. No employer wants an employee who could cause controversy which would hurt business.

Adam is a poor decision maker. Based on the judgment he used and the actions he took, I do not believe he is qualified to be a CFO.

Adam's skill will land him a GS15 position in the Federal Government. The Obama Administration can use a savvy guy like him.

I will say what a GREAT JOB this young lady did handling this guy!!

She did. She has more corporate savvy than this turd Smith--she didn't get angry, responded to the harassment with the corporate line, didn't say anything that would hurt the corporate image. Smith, on the other hand...

I think this will become the defining image of the CFA dust-up: a smarmy, arrogant liberal pr**k harassing a young girl that's just trying her best to make a buck. The look of despair in her face was heartreaking, but she stood her ground and did her job just as she was told. I hope CFA sees its way to handing her a combat duty bonus.

I’ve never been able to stand Beck on his TV show, too much histrionics, and too much wearing his religion on his sleeve. Nor have I ever listened to his radio show. I have no reason to be aware of his association with The Blaze, nor do I much care. Period. Paragraph.

He needed to be fired. Hopefully, he will not find another job as an officer of a company. The chance is far too great that he will once again harm the company’s public image through his actions. No company can afford to take that chance.
