Ten reasons why Chick-fil-A 'ME Day' counter strike is a 'fluster cluck'
Examiner ^ | Aug 7 2012 | Patricia Campion

On Aug. 1, thousands flocked to local restaurants in support of National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. For the Aug. 7 National Marriage Equality Day -- not so much...Just might smash last week's "Kiss In" record for epic fail on the "fluster cluck" meter.

According to their website, gay rights activists at Equally Wed Magazine launched a campaign Tuesday designed to counter the highly successful outcome of last week’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, during which the company announced “record sales.”

Here are ten reasons why this counter offensive qualifies as a "fluster cluck."

According to the Urban Dictionary, a “fluster cluck” is defined as:

A miserable disorganized event, similar to a cluster (expletive deleted), however, a splendid time was had by all. Shared misery with friends.

Reason One: Naming the event.

Originally, the plan was to call the affair, “National Starbucks Appreciation Day,” in honor of the coffee chain’s support of activist efforts to legalize gay marriage.

Unfortunately, a number of other factions already had dibs on that moniker. So, they had to pick another name.

In an effort to heighten awareness for all companies and nonprofits contributing to the fight for marriage equality, we’ve decided to rename August 7 as National Marriage Equality Day.

First problem solved.

“Stolen material?”

Is that what you call articles based on “sourced” information these days?

“They are not authors. It’s a pay-per-hit blog.”

Is that another clever way of saying I “didn’t build that?”

Curiously, the politics editors who PAY me to WRITE articles (before my articles are published and receive a single “pay-per-hit” feature) at Yahoo! U.S. News and the Tampa Tribune don’t feel that way.

“Those maggots re-word MSM stories and sucker you into giving them a hit.”

Show me ANY MSM article that approached this story from this same perspective — and used the same links to the same “sourced” facts as I used — and quote the segments where I re-worded another writer’s premise to call it my own.

... and your penchant for name calling... classy... But “it takes all types, I guess.”

I don’t recall having addressed anything to you.

If you would like my assessment of your blogpimping endeavors,
I’d suggest you show me some links to your blog-full-of-stolen-material.

You don’t merit any research. Show the pimping data on your own.

“I don’t recall having addressed anything to you.”

Attacking me and my credibility IS addressing me, you self-inflated, idiocy-pimp.

“If you would like my assessment of your blogpimping endeavors...”

Nobody wants — nor is anyone willing to pay you for — your “assessment” of ANYthing.

I, on the other hand, have three news outlets paying me to write my opinions, and numerous other news outlets (like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Times, various government and legal websites)willing to pay THEM to pick up the articles they pay me to write.

You, on the other hand, are allowed to post your uninformed blather on the comment boards of blog sites (where articles written by people like me are cross-posted) for FREE!!!!

I wonder if Drudge will ever pick up on one of YOUR pieces of enlightened commentary?

“I’d suggest you show me some links to your blog-full-of-stolen-material.”

I did show the links to the sources for my ORIGINAL article, you delightfully entertaining moron.

Had you the wherewithal to actually locate the link to my article (which Scott provided when sharing the excerpt), you would SEE the “links” (also known as “anchor text”... those would be the words in the article that appear in light blue, underlined text)which back up my ORIGINAL perspective on this story directly from the source of my facts.

(Please don’t tell me that I need to explain how to click on the the links, so you will be automatically taken to the SOURCE for that particular fact.)

But I am beginning to think that you couldn’t find your own butt cheeks with both of your hands tied behind your back.

Just as I backed up MY opinions with researched links... have the gonads to back up YOUR accusations and insults with the same effort...

“You don’t merit any (further) research. Show the pimping data on your own.”

At least I have enough faith in MY opinions to put my name AND my face to them. YOU hide behind the anonymity of an oxymoron screen name like... “humblegunner.”

Tell you what... Google MY name (Patricia Campion, just as it appears in the by-line of my articles)... Then Google YOUR name (whatever that may be)... Then see which of us actually registers enough hits to qualify as someone recognized as being politically informed.

(Be sure to include “first contributor in Yahoo history to win a Rising Star Award, for page views, and Contributor of the Year, for content in the category of politics” simultaneously... and “Content of the Year 2011”... also Google my name and “Tampa Tribune” The tribune is also a print newspaper, by the way... One of the largest in Florida...)

Too much homework for you, sweetie?... Yeah...
That’s why people like me become credentialed journalists and people like you... don’t.

Well, at least I’ve learned one thing from engaging in an exchange with someone as incapable of navigating their way through the real world such as yourself... I finally know who they put those Braille buttons on the keypad at the drive-through ATM machine for.
