You know we go through this every time I post something about Dolan.
Bishops were supportive of Obama during the campaign. Dolan is on record as in favor of universal healthcare and by his failure to state otherwise prior to its becoming law, Obamacare. That would be enough said if it was anyone but the smiling, personable archbishop to a people who are apparently starved for heroes. God knows I've posted it a dozen times with quotes and all I get in response is personal attacks -- nothing about his own declarations about what he thinks the Church's preference is (that is, socialized medicine).
He didn't "hotly reject" anything about obamacare when he still had a choice and his influence SHOULD have helped prevent it from becoming a law to begin with. He only "hotly rejected" it when it threatened to impact HIS organization -- damn everyone else.
Need I remind you that the policies most antithetical to life in this land are being administered by Catholics?
If you don't see this as a colossal failure on the part of Church leadership...you of all people --- I'm sure it will eventually sink in.
"Who is blind like my people?"
Nobody. I could be dead wrong, but my money is on this: he's a sellout.
(Could a man think such a stupid thing?)
Lacking evidence, it seems rash judgment to assume that the Cdl. Archbishop must be either a traitor, a liar, or an idiot.
It remains possible that he's taking a high-risk gamble here, to get the truth out 2 weeks before the vote.
Still, it's not enough for me (or anybody) to "hope" he's doing this hair-raising thing for the right reason. I have the responsibility to do what I can to make things plain to him.
Thank you for your good will. More tomorrow. Good night, invisible.
