Mitt Romney announcing VP pick at the USS Wisconsin (home state of Paul Ryan)
Washington Examiner ^ | 10 August 2012 | Joel Gehrke

“Romney will announce his choice for Vice President in Norfolk, Virginia at 8:45am EST,” Romney campaign spokesman Lenny Alcivar told reporters in an email this evening.

The announcement is being made at the USS Wisconsin. It’s still unclear whom he will choose, but the odds that it is Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., seemed to increase when National Review’s Robert Costa noted that a charter plane flew from Boston to Ryan’s hometown of Janesville, Wis., today.

” Shame on you Republicans. It has finally come to this, where even the professed ‘shining star’, has had to stoop to approving of what we have lofted for occupancy of the White House.

Well folks, enjoy...”

Not much to enjoy : )

RE :”The one brighter aspect of this, is that Ryan can at least defend himself. He can at least articulate a thought process and take down Biden, and do severe damage to Obama.

Ryan was interviewed by Britt Hume and it wasn't pretty. Britt asked him questions about the 'Romney (now the Romney-Ryan ) budget' and Ryan stumbled and couldn't answer them,

So much for the budget wizard we were promised who would debate circles around anyone. He had a similar problem as Palin 2008, he has to take on someone elses (Romney's) positions without knowing how to explain them.

I didn’t see the program, but it seems to me that you’re going to have some situations like this in the beginning. If he’s still coughing and sputtering three to five weeks from now, yikes.

That was on FNC with Britt Hume. There is no more friendly an audience. And it was about their proposed budget, supposedly Ryans super point.

He was tripped up because as watered down the Ryan plan is to cater to certain voting groups, Romney's plan is even weaker, Britt was asking him when it would bring the budget in balance. So Ryan wasn't sure how to respond directly.

I’m not sure how you answer when a plan will bring the budget back in balance. It’s an idiotic question at this point. I’d shoot for ASAP, hopefully in 24 to 36 months, but a lot hinges on when the economy blasts off, and by how much it does.

When Reagan came into office there was an economic downturn he had to overcome. It took him two to three years, and that was a small situation compared to this.

It’s hard enough balancing the budget with a healthy economy, and now we’ve got a really sick economy. Good luck there.

The important thing now is to get people back to work, and at the same time devise strategies that will see us capitalize on the growing economy to reduce handouts while giving folks incentives to get back to work.

We could lop an easy $500 billion out of Welfare in six months or less. Sorry folks, get off your ass and get moving...

Can’t tell you how many times I hear of folks living in section eight. Does anyone at all besides me pay rent or a mortgage anymore?

RE: “Can’t tell you how many times I hear of folks living in section eight. Does anyone at all besides me pay rent or a mortgage anymore?

I live in the 7th richest county in the country (according to Money magazine) and yet section 8 has destroyed many neighborhoods here that have apartments in them with eelfare crime cases. They eat up huge police, public school and medical resources (our tax $$$) and they pay little or no taxes as ours keep on going up.

You may not know this but small businesses support section 8 as they do a local county program here called affordable housing where the county helps a lower income family/person buy a house in nice neighborhood with our tax money, paying about half the price and being co-owner. They also like amnesty for illegals even though long term these work against them politically.

Businesses like this because it's cheaper nearby labor that they don't pay for directly.

I have heard of the Affordable Housing program, but I don’t know anything about it. Doesn’t surprise me much these days.

I agree with your take on small businesses.

What winds up happening, and you address it quite well, is that it destroys communities. Areas where Section 8 comes in, are soon hell holes.

Even the people who come in under it, are not safe. It’s basically a screw job of everyone involved, and anyone who lives anywhere close to them.
