Job One is that Obama and his corrupt Communist Administration—ALL OF THEM-—have to go, for my country to survive.

Obama has to go for my family to survive.

Obama has to go for my posterity to survive.

Romney/Ryan is the only vehicle available to me to defeat Obama on November 6th.

So I am taking the ride.

Good article,Mark. Too bad you had to state the obvious.

Well said, Mark. Hell, I would (almost) as soon pull the lever for Chairman Mao as for the Kenyan Marxist.

And one other thing: there is no doubt in my mind that in a (GOD forbid) 2nd Obama term we would see a dictator to end all dictators, and based on the recent past I have ZERO confidence in the Repubs in Congress to lift a finger to stop it.

I don’t like Romney on so many levels it’s hard to begin...I think he’s basically a statist, he’s a liberal, he’s a member of a nutty cult, and I don’t find him a very attractive person. I couldn’t even bring myself to vote for him, and I was thinking about voting R down ticket but not voting for Romney, because I honestly didn’t think he had any chance of winning and I didn’t want to cast my vote for somebody I really didn’t like or respect (once again).

However, the choice of Ryan has made all the difference. Ryan actually has a program, he’s not a statist, he’s not liberal either socially or economically, and he’s well spoken and principled.

Looking back, I think Romney’s main thing is that he wants to be President, and he’s been spending a fortune and every waking moment for the last 8 years setting up his run. However, the problem is that he has no ideas and principles, and he goes with whatever is the dominant ethos (for example, he was very liberal in very liberal MA) and whatever he thinks would help him get elected.

I think he was urged to pick Ryan because it was clear that conservatives were not going to vote for him unless he did what would have been mentally impossible for him, which was develop a conservative program and adopt a principled stand. By picking Ryan, he got not only a nice, likeable VP candidate, but an entire program and something that he can use to win. And to his credit, he has been vigorously supporting it.

So to get Ryan in, I’ll vote for Romney.

“When we are born, we are the ultimate ideological purists.”

I’m going to stop you right there. Your very first sentence is completely wrong. When we were born, you and I, we were depraved sinners. To develope moral absolutes we wouldn’t violate comes with age and growing up. Of course, maybe some just never learned there are indeed moral absolutes that should not be violated.

Promoting Abortion and Homosexuality.....things Romney has done, and never truly repented of, are MORAL ABSOLUTES to me. I won’t help elect a baby killer to figher another baby killer. You ABO sellouts are doing just that.

Refreshing sanity. I agree with all of it and salute you for writing it. May it serve to bring others to the same realization of what we are facing.

I understand exactly what you are saying, and the last thing any FReeper will see from me, is one critical word directed at our Founder Jim Robinson. I understand perfectly his position and I respect it. Just as he will not vote for Romney, I will (as will many Americans) hold my nose and pull the lever for the GOP in spite of my own personal misgivings about Romney. In a perfect world, we would have pulled the curtains back on a perfectly cloned replica of Ronald Reagan, circa 1976 and nominated HIM this year, but it's not a perfect world and we either have to play out the hand we've been dealt, or we fold our cards and get out of the game. Sorry to hear you were not enamored with my analogies, however I was equally non-impressed with your statement:

"Obama is evil, but Romney is NOT the answer to Obama."

To which I say "0bama IS evil, but more 0bama is not the answer to 0bama."

Thanks for your thoughts FRiend.

Completely with you. Romney wasn’t my first choice, but I will vote for him without hesitation to turn Obama out. Of course, I would vote for the ticket of Richard Nixon and Pablo Escobar rather than let this guy stay in power.

If we don’t get Obama out now, America is over. At this point, to work against Romney’s election would just be selfish, stupid and suicidal.

All of my time and money is going to support conservative congressional candidates and local candidates. I refuse to give Romney a dime of my money or a second of my time.

Since I live in Texas, it doesn’t really matter who I vote for. Obama has no chance whatsoever of carrying my state.

As much as it pains me to to say it though, when it comes time to vote, I will probably hold my nose and vote for Romney. In politics, sometimes the only choice you have is to pick between the lesser of two evils.

It’s an easy choice for me, but not a pleasant one.

Not going to whine about it.

Mitt Romney wins much coveted Jimmy Carter endorsement

Romney is an ascendant guy

I’m with you, Bud. Picking Ryan just sweetens the bile, but it’s what we’ve been handed with cards, and it at least seems Romney is taking the game to Obama.

That's a great list, sam, and those items are just the essentials. There are plenty more to choose from. A second Obama term wouldn't be just 4 years. Just look at how he has treated the U.S. Constitution so far and you can see that his reelection would do irreparable damage.

Thanks for posting this, Mark. It's good to know we're not alone.

I agree with your post. Here is what some on this site refuse to acknowledge: Your future, as in your ability to live your life on a day in and day basis as you have grown accustomed to, and your children’s and their children’s future is at imminent risk if Obama is re-elected. I think that in order to be comfortable staying home and not voting for Romney, many here think their lives are going to continue on just as they always have - “I’ll just wait another four years and see if they come up with someone acceptable then”.

This sounds alarmist and hyperbolic. I don’t think it is. Look at Obama’s lawlessness just within the last six months, when presumably he would be attempting to curtail overtly partisan and divisive actions leading up to an election (including but not limited to no work for welfare and the immigration). Now think what he will do when he doesn’t have to worry about re-election.

Your personal future is at stake RIGHT NOW and you simply cannot afford to sit this one out.

How about, you don’t stop anybody “right there”?

To you,we are all ABO sellouts.

To me, I am a freedom loving American. Freedom I KNOW I will lose under Obama, and not only for me, but for everyone reading this.

God will reward you for your ideological “purity” someday, I am sure.

For the rest of us, we have a country to save.

Mr. RomneyCARE already INSTITUTED Death Panels,
RomneyCARE, ObamaCARE, gay marriage, and
endless taxes (disguised as "fees") when he
tanked Massachusetts and killed the GOP there.

What will Mr. RomneyCARE do This time?

I cannot vote for a party to the LEFT of Ted Kennedy
that SUPPORTS DEATH PANELS.
