When you get Romney, you get Ryan, and all the downstream legions of a new Administration, especially Supreme Court appointments.

Romney has a track record of recruiting and developing talent (such as the Ryan pick, and the many successful Bain turnarounds).. This will probably result in a bigger cumulative benefit than Romney’s direct actions as President. Personnel is policy.

Give a new generation of Conservative leaders a chance to get a job in D.C.

Save America from the freak show parade of an unaccountable lame duck Obama administration.

Obama Must Be Defeated!

That is a great Churchill quote FRiend, thanks for posting it.

You are not stupid. Myopic, maybe.

This is not the polling place. And Mr. RomneyCARE
is not YET the candidate.

Well done, Mark. VERY well done.

You have covered my thoughts and detailed the nightmare I have been going through for quite some time. You came to the same conclusions and for the same reasons.

Now that you have posted this vanity, you may not get invited to the company picnic, but you are more than welcome to any of my BBQs.

Obama Has Gotta Go..........

Thank you G113, I appreciate your kind words and this might be a good time to me apologize for any less-than-charitable words we may have exchanged in the past. The fact is, we are all on the same team (or we should be anyway), which has the objective of flushing that Kenyan Klown out of the White House and back to Chicago.

Thanks for the invite to the BBQ, I’m always up for that! ;) lol

You’re entitled to your decision, and I understand it, but I will not vote for a liberal (just as I didn’t in 2008). The line has to be drawn somewhere, and this is where I draw mine.

I find validity in some of your analysis - except that I submit that you risk making “the brand of ‘conservatism’” an idol outright.

And I’m not so sure that “conservatism” has that much cachet outside conservative circles.

So I guess then, it’s a weak counter-argument - imho...

Also one could argue that assuming Romney does well during his tenure, it follows that Ryan would succeed him under the rejuvenated “conservative” moniker/brand (kind of the “soft-sell” approach) - continuing the recovery from the Obama years.

Optimistic - I know...

You said what I’ve been thinking for the last month - and you said it much better than I could.

I am the wife of a soldier. I cannot, in good conscious, knowingly keep the lives of our service members in Obama’s hands.

I vote for Romney as a vote for THEM.

I believe that I am casting a vote for at one disenfranchised soldier in this election.

Welcome to the valley of the sane.

I'm not a big Romney booster but I am an obama fearer.

I really like Ryan and am growing more able to tolerate Romney.

obama is a communist prick.

“How does that jibe with you calling Romney a “baby killer”? Is the NRLC an organization of “baby killers, too?”

It tells me that the NRLC is naive or trusting enough to take Romney at his word. He has NOT proven he has REALLY changed his stance on Abortion. Current talk is CHEAP, his past actions are more important. I don’t trust him. Also, picking Ryan to be his VP, and actually allowing Ryan to have any say in his administration is a VERY BIG ASSUMPTION. I agree with Jim Robinson that Ryan will locked in a closet as soon as Romney wins an election...if he does. When I resided in Oklahoma (now a Missouri resident), I also supported NRLC. IMO, they are somewhat easily duped. But God Bless them for the good work they have done for years....just be careful about hasty endorsements by them.

I would have voted for Romney regardless of his VEEP pick. If I had to hold my nose to do it, then so be it. Ousting Obama is the objective, and we should not lose sight of it.

That said, having Ryan on the ticket means I will happily vote for Romney. Ryan, and others like him, are the future of the Republican party. And as a native Minnesotan -- although I currently live in New Jersey -- I welcome the fact that many of the Republican up-and-comers hail from our neighboring state of Wisconsin.

Romney switched from pro abortion to pro life about the time he first ran for president. The timing has led some to doubt his sincerity. His positions since then have been solidly pro life. He has not had any opportunities to display these positions with actual votes.

I’ve had all of these thoughts myself.

I will vote my conscious, but I trust that G-d has this election well in hand. If it is truly for the best that Obama has a second term, then Hashem will will it so.

Diogenesis means well Arasina. In this instance, we just see things differently.

You are a better person than I.

It's a beautiful evening; the cicadas are making noise but it's good because that's what they're supposed to be doing this time of year. The ducks are lined up peacefully at the edge of the pond out back; the sun is heading down below the horizon and there's a nice bit of breeze blowing through my screen door. I'm going to enjoy the remaining hours away from the computer.

“Also one could argue that assuming Romney does well during his tenure....”

That is a very HUGE assumption that I don’t think has a chance of being realized. In fact, I think Romney would screw up royally, and set up Hillary to replace him in 2016.....and cost us significant lost seats in the Congress. Hillary will be more dangerous than Obama because she is actually intelligent and way to the left of her hubby.

Almost 8:30 Eastern Time, I have to tend to some family obligations and thus may not be back until later tonight or even in the morning, thanks for all of your comments, and thanks to those who may yet comment, didn’t want anyone to think I was engaging in ‘drive by posting’.

As Eddie Gallagher of WASH-FM in Washington used to say, “it’s so nice to know, so many nice people.”

Your post just made me realize that they aren’t doing that here in the Ozarks of Missouri....and they should be. It has been REALLY dry here, and extra warm. I hope that isn’t an ominous sign. BTW - My concern has nothing to do with the psuedo-science of “global warming.” I’m just wondering why I’m not hearing them now when they should be loudest?
