So Romney-Ryan are liberal on abortion. That isn't going to be decided this presidential term, people! In fact, the States have been doing a much better job of proscribing abortion; there are no more abortion clinics in KY, for example, because of a new law requiring abortionists to have hospital privileges.
We need Romney/Ryan to DISRUPT the Obama regime. We need Romney/Ryan for a very specific set of jobs, related to economic freedom. Overturning Roe v Wade ain't among them. Not now.
“So Romney-Ryan are liberal on abortion. That isn’t going to be decided this presidential term, people!”
Wait, I thought we all needed to get behind Romney because we couldn’t afford to let Obama appoint any more Supreme Court justices. So, the converse of that is we should want Romney to appoint the justices instead. Therefore, Romney’s views on abortion are very relevant, because that issue very well could be decided in this presidential term, via the Supreme Court picks.
It was not the main stream media who changed the subject. It was Akins.
W”e need Romney/Ryan for a very specific set of jobs, related to economic freedom. Overturning Roe v Wade ain’t among them. Not now.”
It’s too controversial. It doesn’t play well in the media. We’ll get to it next time. The economy is too bad to consider it. We don’t want to be portrayed as reactionaries. The women’s vote is too important. The democrats will defeat us if we do it. We’re pro-life but these things take time. The next scotus appointment will take care of it. The democrats are worse on this than we are, surely you don’t support them. You’re not being realistic on what can be accomplished in Washington....
