Rep. Todd Akin, the embattled Senate candidate who used the phrase “legitimate rape” in talking about abortion and pregnancy, said Tuesday afternoon that he would stick to his decision to remain in the race.

I second your request for verification.

When politics gets thick, you can count on the truth getting trampled.

What an unbelievable group of half-wits on this thread.

How does it help the life cause if Claire never-saw-a fetus-she-didn’t-want-to-kill McCaskill gets six more years in the senate?

Unbelievable.

its so great that he thinks so much of himself to screw everyone else....

For an alleged "devout Christian" Akin is apparently unfamiliar with the sin of pride.

“You are absolutely right that there are local people in Missouri trying to convince Akin not to drop out. The concern is not that Akin did something smart — his comment was really, really bad — but rather that Akin supporters are not sure they can trust the Missouri Republican leadership to put up the kind of candidate who won in the primary.”

I am one of them. I have already donated to him and will so again since it looks like he is staying in the race. I voted for Steelman, but now I completely back Akin. IF for nothing more than he is a TRUE SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE (which is the MOST important consideration to me), and it is a way to stick a finger in the eye of the GOP establishment here in Missouri, that cannot be trusted.

Mike Huckabee, very significant figure in SOCON circles, is NOT throwing Akin under the buse. I’m sick of FR types, that don’t even reside in Missouri, making bold assertions about how Akin should drop out. THEY SHOULD GO POUND SAND.

My third priority on the three legs of conservatism is Fiscal...although I am fiscally conservative. However, after the disgusting nonsense the Tea Party Express pulled in regards to Akin....they are now my adversaries. They care primarily about the “almighty dollar” and that is NOT an acceptable definition of conservatism to me. NEVER put your wallet ahead of morality...NEVER. That is probably why they were ready to back Romney. The fools think the Magic Mormon can somehow salvage the economy...he won’t...plus he will probably do more damage to the morale social fabric of our sin diseased culture.

BTW - Excellent post!

PS - I used to like Rush, but have no use for him or Coulter anymore. They are fiscal conservatives and party loyalists....they are not Socially/morally conservative except when it suits other agendas. So, what the expatriot Rush thinks is actually irrelevant. I’m also starting to think Palin isn’t socially or morally conservative as I falsely assumed. She is too much a “Tea Party Fiscal Conservative.” That type of fiscal conservatism at the expense of morality is just plain wrong.

I find it hard to believe that you listened to his entire Hannity interview. Despite his objections, he made it clear, it's all about him. He wouldn't consider the possibility that he may be such a lightning rod, that he may, in fact, hurt his cause. He was convinced his political stance is so unique, no one could possibly replace him. He thinks the Republican Party is making a mountain out of a molehill, when the truth is, the McCaskill campaign hasn't even begun to use all the material they have on this guy.

He is a typical politcian who puts themselves above any voters or cause.

Good.

What they haven’t learned yet—and neither has Rush or Hannity—is you don’t keep the narrative going.

As I’m sure you’ve recognized for at least as long as I have, creating a false narrative is the left’s favorite weapon. It’s what they’ve used to destroy our country.

Akin has chosen to ignore the false narrative, that’s all.

How can you tell it’s “about him” and not about the principles as Akin has stated?

You can’t tell.

Everything I’ve heard from and about Akin is consistent with standing for principle against the false narrative of the left.

When the left creates a false narrative like this it’s infuriating.

What else do they have on him?

“PS = pinging the site owner just because your guy and his satraps got a taste of the First Amendment is like being the annoying little girl in the first grade who is always tattling to the teacher.”

Since I haven’t joined Jim capitulation to the Romney dark side.....I doubt I’m in favor with him. I ping him to give him a chance to slap me down if he choses.

Rapists subsconsciously target victims based on their likelihood of conception.

Oh yeh right -- she's credible.

She presents evidence (which is more than the Admin Moderator did in declaring the article "B.S."):

'most rapes occur in women under 25, and pre-pubescent girls, post-menopausal women and visibly pregnant women are statistically underrepresented among female rape victims, according to Gordon Gallup, an evolutionary psychologist at SUNY-Albany who wrote about rape-related pregnancy in The Oxford Handbook of Sexual Conflict in Humans.

'"Rapists don't pick victims at random," Gallup says. "Unbeknownst to them, rapists clearly target victims based on their likelihood of conception. They tend to preferentially target young, post-pubescent females that are in their reproductive prime."'

Rape Results In More Pregnancies Than Consensual Sex, Not Fewer

“Fine, if you Missourians wanna support this ignoramus and cost us the chance to take the senate then YOU’RE showing just how deluded and naive you are about how the REAL WORLD operates. And I’d be willing to wager you’ll earn plenty of enmity here if that happens.”

NO, only Missourians can vote on this issue. IF you don’t like Akin...who is NOT dropping out because of grassroots support....then you can send McRascal a donation...Will that make you feel better.

The GOPe establishment FORCED Romney on REAL conservatives and you dipsticks tell us that we MUST support him because he won. Well guess what sparky. Akin WON the election in Missouri and he didn’t buy it like Romney did.

So, are you going to continue to diss Akin, or help him beat McRascal....the same choice you say exists in Romney verses Obama.

So, shut up already. He is staying in. Either support him, or risk losing to McRascal.

Not so nice having a choice you don’t like forced on you is it? However, please be as pragmatic as your ilk expects of supporting Romney...the Magic Mormon.

BTW - He may be running for U.S. Senate....but YOU CANNOT vote either way...because you ARE NOT a resident. So, once again, it really isn’t your business who the people of Missouri chose. We have gone with a SOCON...rather than a fiscal sell out.

Fiscal conservativism results in social conservatism. Remember, whatever you pay for you get more of and vice versa.

This absolutely **MUST** be the last gaffe of this type.
Can one put a little more pressure on the guy? Anyone standing up for life has a difficult road ahead of him. I hope parents in general are kinder to their children (adult or otherwise) who makes mistakes, than they have been to Todd Akin.

OK, you can explain to God how you threw away thousands of babys' lives because you couldn't save all of them.

Because that is what we're talking about. When not if we fail to regain the Senate because of people like you, when not if we fail to repeal 0bamacare because of people like you, America is finished. Because once 0bamacare goes into effect, you can draw a straight line of inevitability to Single-Payer Healthcare and a one Party State. That means no chance to pass any kind of restriction on abortions, that means a Supreme Court which will not permit the slightest restriction on any kind of abortion even if we could get something passed, and that means that YOU and those like you WILL be forced to pay for abortions through the health care system. And that means MORE, not fewer, dead babies in the years ahead.

If you can accept having that on your conscience, I think you need to reexamine your alleged "faith." And good luck with telling God you thought the extra murders were part of His "plan."

"Unbeknownst to them, rapists clearly target victims based on their likelihood of conception.

So then, even though rapists are subconsciously obstetricians privy to their victims' ovulation schedules, they are still only impregnating 1% of their victims. All that subconscious advantage over couples not trying to get pregnant, and that's the best they can do???

" What the Left is doing is essentially blacklisting dissident thought"

Ding-Ding! You win ZC!

Disagree with the Narrative the Liberals have set and the Republicans will freak the hell out.

Its like asking "When did you stop beating your wife?" and the Republicans fall for it EVERY-SINGLE-TIME. Like Lucy and Charlie Brown with the football.

At a certain point we're going to have to realize that the flawless, perfect conservative candidate that the lib media will accept doesn't and never will exist!

Which is why Sarah Palin needs to be run out the GOP on a rail, she has too many flaws!!@! We need to have Cute, Huggable, Loveable Moderates like Willard, John McCain and Jon Huntsman, They NEVER lose!/Sarc

Let the guy win or lose on his own but attaching the whole party to the issue was an incredibly stupid move on the part of the GOP.
