SOURCES: AKIN IN TO STAY
Breitbart: Big Government ^ | August 23, 2012 | Dana Loesch

Sources say that GOP candidate Rep. Todd Akin will leave the Council for National Policy conference confident about his decision to stay in the Missouri Senate race. The conference hosts top conservatives annually, many of whom have encouraged Akin to continue in his bid against incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill. Not all have been supportive of the Congressman's bid, with several prominent attendees said to have privately encouraged him to step aside.

“Akin is not going anywhere.......... the......alternative is OBot McCaskill making it best to get behind Akin who is light years better than McCaskill.

From reading “between the lines” I’ve gotten the impression that you want to see developments progress in a way that McCaskill wins and the Republicans’ presidential/vice-presidential candidates lose. It appears that you get your first wish now—so you can move on to help advance your second mission.

Force is coming next and it is not all RINOs. The blame it all on the RINOs is starting to get to be a tired cliche as not all conservatives see everything the same way.

Oh good God. You guys have flipped your wigs.

I am cutting off all donations cold to any part of our movement that supports holding onto Akin and so is alot of others.

Oooh ok.

No, the blame now goes to you guys keeping the issue alive at a higher intensity.

Oh, so it's the Freepers who think he stepped in it that are the problem? If we just shut up, he'd be fine and run to victory?

You have failed to persuade the legitimate primary winner to leave the race, and your baneful efforts are now helping the Dems. That's all your fault. Yes, because absent online comments by Freepers, the media, Democrats, elected Republican politicians, and everyone else would just drop this.

Yeah, I'm not buying that one. Pretending that the Emperor still has clothes after that kid pointed out that he didn't isn't going to work.

I've got an impression that you're a fool.

It appears that you get your first wish now—so you can move on to help advance your second mission.

It appears that you failed and it's your actions that want McCaskill to win.

“Oh good God. You guys have flipped your wigs.”

It’s coming. This election and the survival of this nation is at stake. Do you really think the real powerbrokers in this country who want Obozo and the Democrats gone are going to let a stupid pissant like Akin stand in their way?

Just watch.

Freepers- all Freepers? All don't buy the BS that it's a fait accompli. That's a step in the right direction to shut up by quit joining the Dims.

By the way, give my (lack of) regards to George Soros the next time you see him.

I have absolutely no idea what/who you’re talking about and I guess I’m not a “power user” so I’ve been unsuccessful in my attempts to see who you’re talking about. Any suggestions on how to do that?

That's a step in the right direction to shut up by quit joining the Dims.

"Step in the right direction?" Exactly how far is that "step" going to take us? Because I don't think comments online from Freepers are going to affect Akin's chances to beat McCaskill at all.

What you're really doing is trying to squelch any discussion/analysis as to how Akin's comments affect his chance. As if all of us shutting up about Akin will magically make this issue go away.

Remember that McCaskill is the one saying he should stay in the race. The Democrats are the ones who spent more than a million to help him win the nomination. So when you try to shut down discussion from conservatives as to whether he is actually the best candidate, you ought to consider the motives of those with whom you are in agreement.

If the entire Republican block defended Akin, would you be so discouraged?

Forgetting his inarticulate, fumbling thoughts on the defense of Life, do you have a problem with Akin’s Conservative record?

I have no problem with his record and or anyone else with a conservative record.

“If the entire Republican block defended Akin...’

They are not likely too and are probably engaging in a behind the scenes nasty campaign to get rid of him. The problem is now with him as personality has blown it. He is now “toxic” and basically unelectable and starting to cause damage to the whole opposition ticket and now I am forced to do get nasty and play hardball as many, many activists are going to start doing right now. It’s going to happen from both the bottom and the top and he will not survive.

“...brain dead (LITERALLY!) Dem’s have won in the past. ..”

Spot on, for instance:

Hank Johnson.... Shela Jackson Lee... Maxine Waters... Charlie Wrangle...

Anyone want to add to the list, feel free...

Guy said a really stupid thing. Media blows it up as they do with everything. For better or worse, he’s staying in.

How much more stupid is worrying if Guam will tip over from too many Marines (compliments of that intellectual giant - GIANT, I say - Hank Johnson)??? And THAT effing moron didn’t step down, didn’t apologize, didn’t even blink... he offended the common sense and intelligence of millions of Americans, and he’s still on OUR dime.

We scream when they quit; we scream when they don’t quit. Either way, this guy’s on OUR side. We should circle the damn wagons and fight to remove McKaskill. She’s the enemy - not Akins. He’s just a politician with a really lousy sense of timing that said something moronic.

What other choice is there right now? Let that liberal shrew McKaskill hold the seat without a fight? Not an option.

I think the good people of Missouri will sort it out. Either way, it’s up to them and them alone; it’s their state, and their purview.

I can't stop you guys from any discussion here, but it would go a long way by letting this not get waaaay bigger than it should be.

Akin may not be the best candidate at this time, but you have failed to get him to leave the election, and as a consequence, you're helping the Dim Dems.

And for your information and the rest of the self-defeatists, Romney has figured it out to shut his trap about giving ammunition to the enemy rats. Only the Dummies keep this up.

Well, I believe it’s important that Akin’s message is properly communicated. His archaic form of describing modern concerns is obviously a problem, but that shouldn’t be a deal breaker. That said, I’m leaving the decision to keep or kick Akin up to Missouri.

This is indeed a crappy situation, but one that was accelerated into a disaster by the GOP and talkers’ reaction. The GOP failed once again at damage control.
