If missouri changes it’s vote in the presidential because of one representative’s statement they are a pack of fickle, unprincipled morons.

Stop the panic. This is not that bad. It will be reversed. Considering the enormous media firestorm, Romney/Ryan has held up very well in Missouri.

LOL. Blaming a close race on Akin is nonsense. Maybe many Reps don't like the Romney/Ryan condemnation of Akin. McCain barely won MO last time in 2008. It is going to be a tough race.

Do you really think that if Akin gets out, the Romney/Ryan numbers will go up?

It would not surprise me that Akin’s supporters are withholding their support from Mitt and telling pollsters they will be voting for Obama or not remain undecided.

I can't believe that Akin will not step under that bus that the GOP Leadership usually reserves for Tea Party members. Akin must hate the Tea Party to not want to capitulate to the RINO leadership and the liberal media calling for his head.

How Dare He??!!

What does he think he's doing? Standing on some principles? This is about the party!! We don't have any place for people with principles!! Get him out!!!!!!

And what’s frustrating about this is — so long as Akin stubbornly remains — the dems can call the shots on how miserable they want this whole tawdry episode to be for us. They own the “media” and can dredge Akin’s statement up anytime they feel the need to slap down a pro-life GOP candidate who may be gaining on the dem opponent.

Until Akin goes, the enemy holds the country’s future in its hands.

And, given that, I’m beginning to wonder if Akin is getting some kind of under-the-table incentive to remain.

from Rassmussen

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

In Missouri, Romney has lost his lead and now trails by a point. This is in the wake of Senate Republican hopeful Todd Akin’s comments about “legitimate rape.” The Show Me State has moved from Leans Romney to Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections.

Akin trails incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill by 10 in the Missouri Senate race. That race had been leaning Republican but is now ranked as Safely Democratic in the Rasmussen Reports Senate Balance of Power projections. The New Mexico Senate race has moved from Toss-Up status to Leans Democratic.

Even though Mitt Romney will win the election, I am very concerned about the Senate.

Akin: This is further proof that Obama and McCaskill are weak candidates. Both should drop out. Thank you. And God Bless Me. /sarc

Nice job Akin, you selfish bastard.

You will lose by 20+ points and may bring the entire party down with you.

Thanks also to all the “pure” conservatives who are insisting you stay in.

Brilliant folks. Just brilliant.

Akin - GTFO NOW!!!!!!

If I recall correctly, here in Wisconsin, Rasmussen puts Obama at 47% and Romney at 48% with a 4.5% margin of error. I remind you of this because Todd Akin is a few states away from Wisconsin and has absolutely nothing to do with how poorly Romney is performing here. With a Wisconsin native, Ryan, on the ticket with him, Romney should be well out of the margin of error -- nearly every other primary candidate would have been in my opinion. Romney's just that bad and Akin has nothing to do with it. You can try scapegoating Akin, but I don't think it's going to stick.

Of course the guy needs to leave.

However, this poll was taken in the heat of the controversy, which was ONLY less than 5 days ago. It’s an emotional response that will even out over the next week, and at best it only give O a margin of error tie.

So the panicking is a bit overdone, people.

You guys don't get it do you? You are losing romney voters right here on FR because of your hatred and doing the same things the libs do. WE MUST THINK LIKE YOU DO AND DO WHAT YOU THINK WE SHOULD DO. Their is no room for any other options than yours. Many people here think they know who Akins is, but are painting him the way they want people to see him. Calling him names, saying he's not patriotic (even though he has two sons serving in the military right now) saying they KNOW he can't win, attacking his faith and anyone who says to back off of him. Well its the RNC and the talking points they sent out on what to say about him that is crushing his numbers more than anything. Why won't the RNC attack Obama or anyone on the left as hatefully and forcefully as they have Akins? Because Akins is a Conservative, pro-life Christian and Romney is not. The gop is tired of fighting social issues and are moving left and the pushing of Romney in the primary is the proof. It is the gop and the Akins haters that are driving social conservatives out. Some people have no mercy for people who want to walk their faith. I hear people here say don't attack romney’s faith, but apparently it is open season on Christians, just like what we get from the left. Many people eyes are being opened to the fact that it's not just liberals who are hateful, it's in our party too.

I worked as a counselor at a Crisis Pregnancy Center for years. I volunteered to work many campaigns and sent money to various candidates and the RNC, RNCC,....I walked door to door with petitions and for candidates and causes. I now see it was for nothing. The RNC has decided they want the independents more than they want the people who worked to build up this party.

The more everyone trashes Akins, the more you will see people like me walk away from the party. Christians not welcome, correction, Christians who actually walk their faith not welcome. With the push of Romney who we know know lied again; He is not 100% pro-life like he said, he is ok with abortions for innocent babies because their bio sperm donor was a criminal and now he says gays should be allowed to adopt. A lot of people would not have voted for him had they know this during the primary. Holding his feet to the fire was just words, no one is calling for him to be what he promised to be in the primary. The worse part is yet to come if he wins. He and his campaign has made it clear by the things they have said about Christians that we are not welcome guests. (mormons are so nice you know)

The party is taking a hard left. Their is no reason to do this. Over 50% of voters are pro-life and 42% pro-abortion. Only 25% believe strongly in abortion. We could have turned this Akins issue around and reminded people about the lefts actual crimes; Clintons actual rape, Weiner on Youtube, Kennedy letting a women die,..... We could have compared making one statement to a person who thinks abortions up to 9 month and even infanticide is ok, but instead they hate this man more than they hate the left.

I have never seen worse things said by the left, then what many on the right have said about this man. I hope romney doesn't make anymore dumb mistakes or you might have to dump him too. That's right, only Christian conservatives get this treatment. Many will not follow this parties march to the left. Some here say Akins and his supporters are giving Obama the win. NO, every hateful word you say about him, about us Christians and our right to have an opinion different then yours is pushing us away from Romney. Are you sure some of you don't work the Obama campaign, because your doing a good job of knocking off potential Romney voters. The gop deserves credit for most of this though. They want the party to be more like the democrats socially than they want to be like Reagan.

The martyrdom mentality never ceases to amaze me.

Let’s blow 3 years of activism, Tea Parties, and the chance to save the nation - to fight for a 65 yo back bencher who (up until 4 days ago) thought raped woman had a magic way to stop sperm.

#HeadShake.

If people are ignorant enough to reelect Obama because of what Akin said, there is nothing that can help them. Obama has showed them, and they like it.

I can only hope the people of Missouri are smarter than what the polls are showing right now.
