The only people attacking Akin are Republicans — we eat our own. Akin can still get off the ballot, but he can’t be replaced — assume all of you naysayers would rather McCaskill run unopposed?

"Akin can still get off the ballot, but he can't be replaced..."

I do not understand "...can't be replaced?"

You are mistaken. Akin can absolutely be replaced, but it has to happen quickly. Either Brunner or Steelman can replace under MO election law if the candidate withdraws; there are no "sore loser" prohibitions.

That's obviously better than Akin staying in. It will have the same end result (McCaskill wins) and it will be better for Romney in Missouri, and the GOP nationwide.

Do you really need to be a rocket scientist to figure out WHY Republicans want him out and Dems gleefully want Akin to stay? Are you serious?!?

Do you walk to work or carry your lunch

or

Do you walk to lunch or carry your work?

I suppose you are of the opinion that those Romney, Ryan, Akin logos that Blabbermouth and the rest of the Democrat party are using to make fun of Akin and the lack of the ability of the Republican Party to get him to honorably step down were copied from the RNC site?

Did you have any interface with Forrest Gump's mother?

Inquiring minds want to know!

If you first want to have a message to be conveyed with believability, the messenger must first be able to convey that message with credibility. Otherwise the message is aborted. Go think about that one for the next 20 years.

“. . . assume all of you naysayers would rather McCaskill run unopposed?”

If it means Romney winning the state comfortably without putting in any resources instead of this C*********K happening the answer is a RESOUNDING YES

You are factually incorrect.

Akin can still withdraw, and a replacement can be named by the Republicans which can include Brunner and/or Steelman.

A court order is needed, but is possible before Sept. 25th. (The campaign has to pay for ballot reprints.)

There is a sore loser law that prevents primary opponents from running third party.

You can't be serious, but perhaps you are. Read the Missouri statute. He can and will be replaced by a good, conservative candidate who can win and bring the state with him/her into the GOP column for the Presidential race.

You are the gift that keeps on giving to the Democrats.

...assume all of you naysayers would rather McCaskill run unopposed?

The Rats have already started using this nationwide.Osama Obama's using it,Princess Liawatha has started using it here in Massachusetts and I can guarantee that it *will* work here....and,I'll wager,it'll be used in other places as well.

So,to summarize:a Senate seat in Missouri that was a shoe-in 10 days ago is now lost,Missouri, which 10 days ago was a shoe-in for Romney is now leaning Rat,and a pretty safe Senate seat in Massachusetts is now in serious jeopardy. And then there's the Electoral vote in *other* swing states and maybe even "leans Republican" states as well as numerous Senate seats that were ours for the taking.Akins hasn't shot himself in the foot here,he's emptied an entire clip into his *head*.The problem is that he just *refuses* to fall over.

We don’t eat our own, Akin needs gone, he’s a distraction an embarrassment and is going to not only cost a Senate seat if he sticks around, he is going to cost other close races and lord knows what him stickign around will to to Missouri as a whole.

Democrats aren’t attacking him because they know him sticking around benefits them, they are the ones cheering him on and sending him cash.

I’m sorry but the guys comments were over the top, not only the gut instintual “legitimate rape” gaffe, but then to imply womens reproductive systems won’t work if sperm is introduced forceably is just idiotic and ignorant.

Anyone that rediculously stupid about basic biology has no business in any law making capacity.

The Gaffe woudl be bad enough, the ignorance, is unexcusable. He’s now taken the campaign and created a giant distraction and harmed the very groups he claims to believe in. He needs to go. He won’t though, because like his ignorance over female reproduction he seems just if not more ignorant of political realities.

He can’t win, he can only harm, but he refuses to accept reality. I know EGO and DESIRE are big in folks who run for such offices, but while they are benefits in many things, they are hinderences in others and right now his ego and desire is going to ensure his political career is over and he’ll never have another shot and be basically a black sheep for the rest of his life.

Akin can still get off the ballot, but he can’t be replaced. . . .

Yes, he can be replaced on the ballot. He can withdraw, with a court order, by September 25. Then the state Republican committee would name a replacement.

“but he can’t be replaced”???? That is just flat out wrong. The state law allows the republican State Committee to nominate and place on the ballot a replacement.

Someone is staying after school for not paying attention. If he withdraws and gets a court order by Sept 25, the 68-member Republican Central Committee in Missouri will name his successor. McCasKILL will be running against someone who will actually beat her.

Akin can get off the ballot and he can be replaced if he does so by Sept 25.Apparently Obama moving ahead in the Missouri polls statewide is sending a message. Even it Akin could not be replaced, yes, I would rather see McCaskill run unopposed rather than lose nationally because of him.

Of course all the “naysayers” would perfer their candidate “McCaskill” run unapposed. Give this until after the GOP convention and Todd Akin’s comment will be forgotten history. In other words, it won’t mean a thing. Akin is going to win in Missouri with the help of God and many praying souls.
