New York assembly candidate Ben Akselrod has reportedly distributed campaign literature to thousands of likely voters with a pretty appalling typo the man replaced neighborhood with negrohood when discussing high crime rates.
I am running for Assembly because I believe the number one job of that office is to keep the community safe. The current assemblyman has allowed crime to go up over 50% in our negrohood so far this year. I am fighting for video cameras throughout our community to protect our seniors who are the most vulnerable; and cut down on anti-Semitic attacks in our community. I will also make sure the mayor gives our community more police to patrol our streets [Emphasis added].

Must be a Dem. If it was a Republican, it’d be front page news around the country by now.
Black Racist protests begin in 3...2...1
Sounds like lyrics to a rap/hip hop song. This candidate would get a pass if he was black
Democrat, running against Dem incumbent.
Immigrant from the Soviet Union, which might possibly explain his spelling problem.
He says it’s up to the government to “create jobs.”
I’d be inclined to let the Dems fight over this one, and stay out of it.
Oooouch, that’s not gonna *buff-out* too well.
It’s a dem. They’ll bury it. Just a Lunchbucket Joe minor *gaffe* typo. Move along...
Of course he’s a Dem. But not a native English-speaker.
It may have been an appalling typo, but was it a legitimate typo? Some printing presses just naturally shut down in cases like that.
DYAC!!
How does one mistype “I-G-H-B-O-R” into “G-R-O”.
Anyone who types, or spells that bad doesn’t need to be writing copy for public consumption.
S/he must have been using a “presumptive spelling” device, yeah, right.
Since it is the Negroes carrying out those anti-Semitic attacks, it seems an accurate term. There’s a Black president. We are officially “beyond race”. So why can’t whites say whatever they want now, and blacks lighten up because they are “The Man” now.
Dan Quayle invented spell check. It’s Dan Quayle’s fault.
Thats not a “typo.”
It could have been much much....much much worse...
Looks like he wrote it on his iPhone.

Yup. Thats why I don’t think it was a typo.
Yeah, it looks like sabotage to me (campaign worker deliberately misspelling the word) rather than autocorrect.
I think it was the LA Times that got some software that automatically changed “Black” to “African American,” even when it wasn’t right. (For example, “former Supreme Court Justice Hugo African American.”)
A “Freudian slip” LOL!
My iPhone would self-correct like that.
