HEY! Where were YOU during PRIMARY TIME???

I worked for another candidate. I lost. Now I have to make a choice.

My children’s future and America’s survival versus philosophical purity.

I chose the former. You chose the latter. Take a trip to Kenya and check out the neighborhood. Its what America will look like if people like you prevail.

Stpio is too self righteous to understand us lowly commoners.

He would rather see it all burn.

And StPio, I do hear your voice.

What can be done in the states is not the same as what can be done at the federal level.

Hello, the Supreme Court decided it can be done at the federal level. And Dukakis Jr. is aching to make the whole country Massachusetts.

Hello, we have an opportunity to sway the court, or we can tuck and run.

Beautiful post. I could not agree more. Since 1980, the GOP has come up with exactly three candidates I could enthusiastically support.

Ronald Reagan

Mike Foster

Sarah Palin

That is more than a decade per candidate!

So stay home and pout and watch all my predictions come true when Obama gets elected, because purists like you pull off the same tactics you were so successful at in 2008 and 2006!!

If Dole won, unlikely 9-11. If McCain won, no Obamacare, and we’d have Sarah.

Not sure if you’re thinking this through.

The people of Ma demanded it.

Obama and the media and the Dems said the nation demanded it. Now we have it. Happy?

What was Romney to do as a Gov? Tell them to stick it?

Wow, can you explain this? You are claiming Romney couldn't tell Massachusetts to stick it, but he can tell moderates, conservatives, and the entire country to stick it.

Because in 2010 the voters demanded no national Romneycare. And now he is telling us to stick it. Why is it terrible of him to tell Massachusetts to stick it, but not thew whole country.

Are you a self-hating conservative, or did Romney talk you out of being conservative altogether? You have actually convinces me not to vote for Romney even more. He has to do what leftists tell him, but he hates this country and conservatives.

“Romney is a “habitual liar”, he need’s God’s grace in his
soul there’s the other problem, Mormons are not Christian.”

“And THERE you have it. A religious BIGOT puts his BIGOTRY before America.

So you oppose Romney because he is a MORMON??? Suppose he was a conservative Jew???

Ridiculous!!”

~ ~ ~

Zulu, you left OFF the first part of my post about Romney’s “record” besides his non-Christian Mormonism, look to his actions not his promises when you go to elect him President.

Did I not say, Mitt needs God’s grace? So, please pray for his conversion. I don’t want the leader of our country in
this ungodly dark time rejecting who God is, Mormons have the most insane beliefs which began IN 1820!

There’s another big hint. Romney doesn’t even notice.

Two strikes, his record and Mormonism.

http://yalelawjournal.org/the-yale-law-journal-pocket-part/tax-law/the-taxing-power,-the-affordable-care-act,-and-the-limits-of-constitutional-compromise/

I don’t want to re-invent this wheel that has been carved over-and-over here, but the blueprints seem to have been dropped down the memory hole.
The scotus ruled that Obamacare was constitutional as a tax pursuant to congress’ power to raise taxes.
Left lingering like a stale but potent fart was the invitation to `toss the rascals out’ (guess who? that’s right!) who made their intentions clear to raid our bank books: There is a solution and it is political.

Why do you think the Rats took such pains to have the costs described as “penalties” rather than taxes? Because they know Americans hate taxes. We broke from England over taxation. Still with me?

http://2012.republican-candidates.org/Romney/Issues.php
Mitt’s Plan

“Romney has been at pains to point out that the Massachusetts health care reform that he actively pushed for - alongside the late Senator Edward Kennedy - and subsequently signed into law as Governor of Massachusetts, was a state-level solution for a state-level problem - and in no way does it endorse a federal health care mandate.”

“On his first day in office, Mitt Romney will issue an executive order that paves the way for the federal government to issue Obamacare waivers to all fifty states. He will then work with Congress to repeal the full legislation as quickly as possible. In place of Obamacare, Mitt will pursue policies that give each state the power to craft a health care reform plan that is best for its own citizens. The federal government’s role will be to help markets work by creating a level playing field for competition.”

What do you think the chances are of Dear Leader repealing the only jewel in his shabby, tarnished crown?
For conservatives, Mitt is the wallflower at the dance who makes his own clothes, has a, uh, wonderful personality and all the other girls really like him.
Well, the `prom’ is in shouting distance and you can take him, or the foreign exchange student who combs her hair with a fork and uses English as a second language.

The GOP-e is the stupid party—except when a real decision has to be made then they do it. The Democrats live in cloud cuckoo land—except when they smell tax dollars, then they’re all business. Reality suspension time is over.

Time to cowboy up conservatives. Bite the bullet, run the rustler out of town and give the new sheriff a four year contract—renewal subject to about 4 or 5 dozen stringent conditions.
As representative Pence put it, fiscal conservatism is incompatible with social “progressivism”: so, life, period. Restore our border, boots on the ground. Rebuild our economy, energy and spending policies. Pink slips to several dozen “czars” and a peach basket-full more to beltway `Bureaus of Compliance’ and `Compliance Agencies’ (EPA, Education, Energy, the new one I can’t even remember because it’s too much like the CPSC, but with even more nanny-bell.) That is what is usually called a `good start’.

Or you can sit on your damn hands and bitch, “Why can’t things be the way they used to be under Reagan?” Exit whaaambulance, cue angelic choir and fade to dark.

Roberts may have been right in his ruling, even if you think its **** (I think it’s **** too) it sets precedence and IMHO the entire bill should go back to the house and be voted on as a tax.

If it did I don’t think it would ever clear the house.

I agree with you 100%. I am about sick of the folks bashing Romney here. One of my bosses knows Romney personally and has nothing but nice things to say about Romney. The ONLY reason Ryan has ran so well is because he has said (now does this qualify as “compromising “ your principles by the “pure of heart” here?) It is not my agenda I am running on Romney's agenda as the VP! The press has gone after Ryan on Abortion and some budget issues. The press would make Palin’s treatment look tame if Ryan ran at the top of the ticket.

The House is not going to overturn slaverycare when the president from their own party wants it.

If Roberts did one positive thing, is he proved the Romney formulation is a sham.

Federalist No. 45

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.

Massachusetts has "numerous and indefinite" powers reserved to it by the constitution. It's that simple.

This is such a great post. It speaks for myself as well.

Also for me, I've done so much for the grassroots; and always told not now; you need to tune it down some so we can add in more moderates. For me, no more being pulled through a key hold and being frightened.

Romney agrees with 0% of Mormon doctrine. Most Mormons are pro-life and conservative.

Why am I a fool? You said he can't stick it to the people of MA? Why can he stick it to us?

Why aren't you trying to get Romney to change. His taking this position damages his campaign, not what I say. He had a chance to draw a stark contrast with Obama. He didn't.

IT is that simple.

There is a reason that Texas is not Massachusetts.
