Agreed. Ryan was great tonight. Palin was great 4 years ago at the convention. In fact, her speech foreshadowed everything..l.the theme was, no matter what the problem is, to Obama the answer is Always more government. The two speeches are almost bookends...the before and after

CA needs a whole lotta fixing. I know it would take a TEA Party take over of the state and I don’t see that happening. Too damn many entrenched democrats.

Taking a cue from Paul Ryan, “in CA government, everything is free except the people who are paying taxes.”

Line of the speech for me! Then the Ipod “mine starts with AC/DC and ends with Led Zeppelin” line was good too.

Fair point Obama didn’t have any kind of record to point out when she was running with McLame.

“NOBODY, with half a brain that loves this country is going to allow Obama another four years and more SCOTUS picks to finish off this country.”

A Supreme Court with five “conservative” justices already finished off this country by upholding 0bamaCare!

Nothing matters at this point. the destruction of this country is already sealed. Do you really believe Romney will appoint a Conservative to the SC? Not a chance. We’ll get another Kennedy or O’Connor at best.

I do see much less Obama stickers on cars here in SoCal. I dont even see Obama signs on people’s lawns, so at least I dont have to gag when I’m driving around. Ronald Reagan wouldn’t recognize this state anymore, sad but true..its not like CA doesn’t have some Conservative areas, they do, but LA and San Francisco the Commies completely took over, would be SO great if we could get a Governor like Susana Martinez to Govern this state but I doubt she would stand a chance here

“Palin did not have 3.5 years of failure to address and pick apart like Ryan did tonight.”

Excellent point...Palin was an asset to the McLame candidacy, and McLame et al tried to destroy her, even during the campaign. McLame gave a speech tonight so weak that anyone who bothered to listen to it knows why Obama was elected in 2008...he was a piss poor candidate, and I believe he, for some reason, did not want to win.

Ryan’s speech tonight was a bases loaded homerun. I believe he and Romney both want to, and expect to win.

What always drew me to Sarah’s speech was the sort of frontier-sy strength and its refreshingly unforgiving, cutting humor. It reminded me of an earlier generation, the ‘can-do’ America that used to be. Before the culture became so embarrassingly PC and metrosexual. That’s why Palin’s speech just blew me away, I think. I haven’t really reacted much to any speeches I’ve seen from anyone ever since, to be honest.

You do not know for a fact what Romney will do. Romney was the governor of an extremely liberal state. You do know what Obama will do. You are nothing more than an Obama troll on this thread.

Yes, exactly. Camille Paglia wrote brilliantly at length about that at the time, explaining how Palin captured a powerful, patriotic, fighting, fearless form of femininity that seemed lost to the frontierswomen of history before she came onto the stage.

Great bit from Breitbart's group...

9:55 -- At The Politico Livestream Four White Guys Lecture GOP About Diversity -- Tony Lee

Four white guys -- Mike Allen, Jon Allen, Jake Sherman, Jim Vandehei -- in tedious discussion about how GOP needs more diversity with straight faces. Irony lost on them. No talk about POLITICO's newsroom or their "top-shelf" talent in need of diversification. Mainstream media does not hold themselves to same standards they hold Republicans.

What a wonderful way to describe it.

I had been worried that the speaker schedule filled with minorities meant that the convention was taking a politically correct turn, but it was all beautifully, strategically executed, like preludes to a single, unifying message:

If you want to glorify suffering, vote for Obama.

If you want to glorify success, vote for Ryan.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to Fox...but if they forget who sent them to the top and turn on us....we are duty bound by our convictions to abandon them.

Uh, Fox has abandoned conservatives already. They backed Romney hardcore, shredded his opponents every chance they got, officially banned Gingrich from ever appearing on the channel again, and now booted Palin off for the night no doubt because she tried to hold the GOP's feet to the conservative fire. I think she'll be fully exiled like Newt if Romney wins the election. They need her as a weapon to use against Obama if he wins, but once Romney wins, they don't want her or any conservative exercising any power over the agenda. Fox is GOP TV, plain and simple. Wasn't so bothersome 10 years ago when them bringing on a series of goofy, untelegenic libs to allow them to lose debates and make fools of themselves was a refreshing change of pace. But the GOPs new-ish plan is to move to the "center," thinking they can expand their voting base and their power. Succeeding at that requires destroying real conservatives and the Tea Party. Sources like Fox and the Drudge Report are powerful and willing allies to the GOP in that war against conservatism.
