Just like Obama was turning down the big money because the campaign intended to have small donations....
What a bunch of asshats.

Obama and his advisers had taken great pains to avoid soaring rhetoric that might have been derided as empty. Indeed, they extensively tested the presidents speech in dial groups, a type of focus group where voters twist dials to register approval or disapproval of specific passages, and say it tested off the charts. Though it's fun to deride Team Obama, this strategy actually makes a lot of sense, given how the GOP endlessly ridicules his messiah image. And a more sober speech reflects the public's mood. We will soon find out if this will reap rewards for him.

Remember, he has many advantages over Mitt Romney: 97% of the media, Hollywood, ACORN, unions and their millions of members and hundred of millions of dollars, the Black Panthers, LaRaza, Nation of Islam, Soros and other billionaires, the Lavender Mafia, the Democratic machine, NGOs, foreign donations, the Nutroots, LULAC and on and on. We should all work our tails off and donate as much as possible between now and November 6th.

The best by far ‘rat speech maker of modern times is Michael Dukakis.
It’s widely recognized that Dukakis was the one to commend for the part of the Big Dig project to depress the Central Artery by just speechifying to it.

'Who controls the past,' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.' And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. 'Reality control', they called it: in Newspeak, 'doublethink'. The past, he reflected, had not merely been altered, it had been actually destroyed. For how could you establish even the most obvious fact when there existed no record outside your own memory?
His mind slid away into the labyrinthine world of doublethink.

That gets you "off the chart" results every time.
(well what would you do after the first results came out badly
and you knew failure would bring wrath down upon you?) /sarcasm

“Obama and his advisers had taken great pains to avoid soaring rhetoric that might have been derided as empty. “
So instead they went with leaden droning that was derided as empty.
Good choice.

Democrats say “speech, Speech, SPEECH!”
23 Million un- and under-underemployed Americans say: “ jogs, Jobs, JOBS!”
Obama then took the easy, lazy path, as he always does.
