Left-Wing "Psy Ops" -- Why Obama Will Have Trouble Closing the Deal
Townhall.com ^ | 9/9/2012 | Carol Platt Liebau

As the campaign settles in for the home stretch, there are many reasons to believe that the Obama campaign will have trouble closing the deal. Chief among them are the numbers: ->snip<-

If you and I are aware of these figures, you can bet that those on the left are, too. And as the election approaches, some will ramp up a sort of domestic "psy ops" -- an effort to convince those disinclined to vote for Obama that he's going to win anyway. Given how much more enthusiastic about voting Republicans are than Democrats, it's one of the only ways they have to demoralize pro-Romney voters in the hopes of keeping them home.

This piece by Politico, titled "Advantage, Obama" is -- intentionally or not -- one of this genre. It reports nothing really new -- only that there are more paths to 270 electoral votes for Obama than there are for Romney. Well, that was true in 2004, in 2000 . . . and, in fact, ever since California and New York became dependable Democratic states. Supposedly, Politico tells us, unnamed leakers "intimately" involved with the Romney campaign say Obama has a "high single digit" edge in Ohio; the RCP average of polls shows Obama ahead by 1.5%.

We've seen this "it's a forgone conclusion" tactic, and polling shenanigans before.

Oh great! We get Romney instead of Obama. Happy days are here again. That’ll prevent the coming financial collapse.

I have to laugh.

After thousands of stories when the "news" has been show to be actively in the tank for the Democrat campaign machine, some "conservatives" still wait to see what the media tells them to think.

Was not the absolute scandal of the fraudulent Bush National guard story in 2004 and the scandal of the 2008 "Jour-o-List" coordinating coverage between the Obama campaign and supposed "journalists" enough to wake Conservatives up to this trick?

Bush and the last GOP Congress 2006. Federal Deficit $160 billion

0Bama and the last Dem Congress 2010. Federal deficit $1.6 Trillion.

Even the brain dead Obama-bots around here should be able to do that much math.

...unless the cause of your aforementioned numbers is geometrical instead of personality driven.

You’re being sarcastic, I’m sure.

There is much unpleasantness ahead, no matter what anyone does.

some "conservatives" still wait to see what the media tells them to think, . . .

as demonstrated by the howls at this forum for Todd Akin to quit his Senate campaign.

Yep, Romney has a way of sticking his foot in his mouth, sorta Biden-like.

If Obama wins we can say goodbye to America.

With $20 plus trillion in debt by the end of his second term the economy won’t be sustainable.

We will see even fewer jobs, higher food and gas costs and could witness second depression with massive poverty and social breakdown.

“Free health care” will mean that anyone who wants descent health care will be forced to buy “supplemental coverage” — so costs will increase by about one third.

It would be a perfect time for AQ to smuggle into our cities weapons of mass destruction.

And beside the costs, imagine the quality of care we will get from all those labor union health care workers...

Oh yeah, well wait till you see what you are about to get with 4 more years of Obama, buddy. You won’t recognize your country at the end of it.

Don’t worry, Romney will win in a landslide, even without the strict-constructionist vote. You’ll be happy...for a little while.

“as demonstrated by the howls at this forum for Todd Akin to quit his Senate campaign”

Unless the Pubs sabotage Akin by withholding all funding and intentionally working against him, Akin will win.

Enthusiastic about Romney? She's dreaming.
