"All of us are inspired by what is happening in Libya," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said one year ago as she hailed the revolution taking place in that country, praising the Libyan people for "taking back their country." Today -- on the day after the 9-11 attacks in Egypt and Libya in which the U.S. ambassador to Libya was killed -- a weary-looking Clinton said shes asking herself how it could happen:
How can this happen in a country we help liberate, in a city (Benghazi) we helped save from destruction?
Clinton said that question reflects just how complicated, and at times, how confounding the world can be.
Speaking at the State Department, Clinton said, This was an attack by a small and savage group. Not the people or government of Libya.
She also praised the late U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, to whom she delivered the oath of office earlier this year:
Everywhere that Chris and his team went in Libya -- in a country scarred by war and tyranny, they were hailed as friends and partners.
And when the attack came yesterday, Libyans stood and fought to defend our post. Some were wounded. Libyans carried Chris body to the hospital and they helped rescue and lead other Americans to safety.
In a written statement on Wednesday, Clinton noted that U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens "was one of the first Americans on the ground in Benghazi."
She said he "risked his life" to help the Libyan people build a better future.
"The friendship between our countries, borne out of shared struggle, will not be another casualty of this attack," Clinton said at the State Department Wednesday. "A free and stable Libya is still in Americas interest and security, and we will not turn our back on that, nor will we rest until those responsible for these attacks are found and brought to justice. We are working closely with the Libyan authorities to move swiftly and surely."
In an Oct. 23, 2011 statement marking the "liberation" of Libya, Clinton called the U.S.-assisted revolution "the work of ordinary, brave Libyans who demanded their freedoms and dignity. The United States is proud to have supported them in those efforts, and we are committed to their future."
Let’s start with the fact that you clowns didn’t bother to ask who you were “liberating” and go from there.
Don't forget those other foreign policy aces, the bolshevik harpies Samantha Powers and Susan Rice.
Hilary failed sand Americans due.
Thanks! There she is in all her glory.
Like she didn’t know about Monica? The smartest woman in the world? She is a big reason why this country has gone down hill with Hill. She continues to parade around with Obama as they lead from behind!
Thanks! She’s doing some tap dancing now.

Clinton and her ilk just can't understand that human character is flawed and can't be changed. There will be no peace, ever, as long as mankind is greedy, selfish, hateful, biased, etc. Sociology 101.
The only thing that works for flawed humanity who want to live in peace is to destroy those who won't let them. I say kill them all, before they kill us. And again, I don't care about their collateral damage - better them than us. It's called survival and will always be.
Doesn’t Bam’s Nobel Prize cover this?
Condolences to his wife, children and family.
>> Not even close......Notsobright is by far the worst.
Yeah, I’m gonna have to concede you that point... forgot about her.
and those SOB’s haven't cared one iota about it.
Because they played you for a sucker?
Really Hillary????? go have another drink...
>> I don’t care about their collateral damage
Just like with other varmints — you have to get the breeders and the spawn too, not only the stags.
Everything is complicated and confounding when you are a double-minded, clueless, liberal twit.
We liberated them so that the radical Islamists could come in and take control. Al Qaeda is now back in North Africa as well as Iraq, according to John Bolton.
Stevens is the sad pawn in all of this. Other than being a naive ‘rat he sounds like an OK guy.
On another note — I saw there’s an embedded “Innocence of Muslims” movie on that website you linked. When will those morons learn that all their raging only serves to cause that horrible anti-Mo “sacrilege” to be viewed by about a thousand times more infidels than would see it otherwise?
