Romney should be silent. He should just shake his head sadly when asked. Then the Monday after the mideast is in flames he can go on the attack.

Egypt is not an ally, it is simply a leach for American aid.

He needs to give a major foreign policy speech and lay out why Obama’s naive policies have failed Israel and the Middle East.
If Romney shows real leadership in the face of the onslaught of media attacks and Obama/Clinton’s appeasement efforts, he wing swing many undecideds towards him, imho.

Is the Pope Catholic? As soon as Obama backed the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, I knew we had another Carter-like catastrophe signed, sealed, and delivered(and I was convinced this was coming long before that).

You know, in the old days, you could say that Scoop Jackson and Sam Nunn and a few others were Democrats, but they at least had a brain and cared about the country. Now, is there one, just one Democrat who isn’t a stupid, self-serving dipstick?

Spokesman Sez....
President Barack Obama didn’t intend to signal any change in the U.S.-Egypt relationship last night when he said Egypt is not an “ally,” the White House told The Cable today....
I think folks are reading way too much into this,” Vietor said. “Ally’ is a legal term of art. We don’t have a mutual defense treaty with Egypt like we do with our NATO allies. But as the president has said, Egypt is longstanding and close partner of the United States, and we have built on that foundation by supporting Egypt’s transition to democracy and working with the new government.” ...
Amazing, OBozo steps in Camel Dung without even trying...

Naive doesn’t begin to describe this man.
Oh, and remember how the wise and seasoned statesman, Biden, was supposed to bring some foreign relations gravitas to the ticket? How’s that workin’ out for ya?

Obama said the Egypt was a ‘work in progress’. So, Egypt goes from a solid American ally that was a stabilizing presence in the middle east to a nation run by militant Islamists. This is Obama’s idea of a work in progress? By most sane observers, this would be characterized as an epic failure.

Is this before or after we sent them another $1 BILLION ???
To: tsowellfan
No. The US will continue to send money to Egypt. That’s the difference.
