Their dog treats are poisoning our dogs, their baby food is poisoning our babies, their olive oil is poisoning our Italians. No way I'm taking any pharmaceuticals that are imported from China!

Seriously, recently I found a very interesting food fraud database that was created and is being kept up-to-date by the USP (United States Pharmacopeial) Convention. Unfortunately, it doesn't include pet food or the million and one other poisoned products the Chinese are shipping into this country. Act of war, if you ask me; the Chinese government cannot be unaware of what's going on.

Personally, I won't buy anything at all from China and I do read the labels of everything I buy. But that's so inadequate it's almost laughable: Not every label says where an item comes from, and none talk about the origin of ingredients. And what about my favorite restaurant? Where does the restauranteur get all his stuff?

Who their right mind wants more government? We've go so much government it's suffocating us, yet it can't even do this for us.

I started feeding my yorkie raw meat with bones after the last post on these jerky treats here at FR about a month ago. Her teeth are now clean and her breath is sweet. I don’t know if it is because she’s happier or because the raw meat is healthier, but she has much more energy now. I rotate chicken legs, lamb chops, pork ribs, and beef ribs. I also dehydrate raw chicken to give her as treats.

Amen. Nothing sweeter than a big gentle dog and a playful kitten.

I won't buy any pet product made in China whether food, treats or toys.

They are totally unreliable.

I always check the label of anything I buy for my dog.

Bump for Great Truth.

NO cooked bones...*ever*.

Antlers are a great chew for dogs.

They’re technically solidified hair and will not crack or splinter and even the strongest chewers can only slowly soften them and gnaw them slightly smaller.

Deer hunters can get them for free.

Just remember to saw off the small points when used for big dogs.

What kind of chicken in China only qualifies as pet food? I’m serious, how bad or how long dead does a chicken have to be in China to only be useful as pet food?

How sad. When this first broke, I went and checked my cat food, then went to the website.

merrickpetcare.com

It is proudly made here in the USA, In Texas! In their 5 Star promises, they proudly proclaim “No ingredients from China.”

Marrow bones...once they are *cleaned* out ...fill with peanut butter. :)

Set this up before I went to work one day. When I got home, 8 hours later, she hadn't moved an inch.

Sam’s Club sells it. The last time I was there 2 wks ago, they had a large center isle display of it. They sell a variety package of strips, sausages and some other shape in one big pack.

I am so glad that I saw the news report of this stuff months ago. My dogs loved these chicken strips.

I have a great recipe for bacon cookies for my Otis.

It contains whole wheat flour, wheat germ an egg loose boullion, garlic salt and bacon grease.

Its fast and easy. I’ll re-comment the particulars if anyone wants them. I’m at work now. Hard at work.

My grocer has soup bones in the freezer for about a dollar.
Boil them-good to go. He takes them warm and meaty, buries them then digs them up later and eats them with dirt all over it. LOL!
