How significant is the Jewish vote in Florida anyway? Does it help tilt the race?
Yes, it could. According to a post from a fellow FReeper last night, it is estimated that Jewish voters cast about 8% of the Florida vote. So based on that estimate, if Jews vote 3 to 1 for Obama like they purportedly did the last time, they give him +4 percentage points in the statewide race (6% of the total vote to 2% of the total vote). But if hypotetically the Jewish vote shifts to say 62.5% to 37.5% for Obama, which some are predicting, Obama gets only a net 2 point advantage from them in the total vote. In other words, he will lose two points vs. the GOP compared to his 2008 performance. That's what bothers the 'Rats if the state race is that close.
