Yep, I’m sure that’s the case.

Going to Isreal is just the fantasy of a person who is surrounded on all sides.

I don’t really think that there is any escape.

As a PA resident like you, it really ticks me off to see all of the kneejerk responses from people who are supposed to be smarter than average.

PA elections are repeatedly dominated by the parasites at both ends - Philly and the Burgh.

But I will point out to all the jerks making snide comments about PA - we are 3rd, behind California and Texas, in donations to FreeRepublic.

Looking at some of the comments about PA, it’ appears the socialist efforts to “dumb down America” has reached to FreeRepublic.

So even though Obama is not winning any group he lost in 2008 and not doing better with any group he won and the Coal Industry is being killed in Pennsylvania Ras has Obama up 13 points? Never happened.

“...I can’t wait to see the idiots of Pennsylvania...”

Way to go there, sport. “Idiots” in PA? Just exactly what do we “deserve”?

We have a Republican Governor, a Republican controlled House, and a Republican Senate. We also just passed a Voter ID law to stop the Dems in Philly and Pittsburgh from frauding the vote.

You might want to think about calling people who are on your side “idiots”...

What an insulting comment to make to fellow Freepers from PA.

Virginia has both houses of the legislature under Republican control, and all the elected state officials are Republicans (although two of them ~ mcdonnell and bolling aren't very good Republicans), and the Congressional delegation is majority Republican ~ we may even recover George Allen's senate seat this time out.

We get hit with the same nonsense from people who think Massachusetts still controls the East Coast.

Fortunately Pennsylvania has no East Coast eh!

“...Pennsylvanians esp coal miners deserve to suffer in servitude to the fedgov - and then be tossed to the side when the money runs out. Enjoy your poverty and starvation, scum..”

“Scum”? “Deserve to suffer”?

First, not everybody is as “enlightened” as you obviously are, sparky. Most people have NO clue about who/what the Dems have become. The vote LOCALLY, because the local DEM shows up at their front door, and they know him, his wife babysits the kids, they go to school together, etc. He’s from the neighborhood. Republicans are nowhere to be seen - except at election time, and nobody knows who the hell they are. There’s a REASON the Republican Party is called “the Stupid Party”.

The Dems FIGHT for every inch of ground they get. Can you say that for the R’s?

And no, I’m not a Dem. I was when I first registered to vote, but that was in 1979.

That being said, in spite of those facts, we have a conservative Republican Governor, a Republican House, and Republican Senate - which is quite a feat for a state that has a 2-1 Dem voter registration and massive Dem vote fraud in cities controlled by “oppressed victim minorities” with a chip on their shoulder.

I come from a family of coal miners from my mother’s side. They were/are “Reagan Democrats” as our good Senator Santorum called them.

They aren’t “scum”. They’re MY people. They’re hard- working, decent, God-believing American Patriots, who’ve put their blood, their safety, and their ASSES on the line for this country in four wars, and worked their entire lives providing for their families. My people never took a DIME they didn’t earn, and they earned it by back-breaking work that others couldn’t or wouldn’t do.

The whole state isn’t Philly or Pittsburgh, sport; and that’s where the ridiculous numbers come from.

“Scum?” What a stupid, f**ed up thing to say to people from PA.

So good to have Allies like you.

Hey muawiyah...how do, friend?

I get sick of the slam-comments made about my state by folks who don’t live here, don’t know the people and the folks that do the heavy lifting and the hard work, and just insult us.

Santorum described the Reagan Democrats in this state; he was right on the money. This state has a HUGE Dem presence - but the dems are not all Philly liberal asswipe commies. Most of them are old-school conservative Dems that are totally unaware of what their party has morphed into.

Not everyone out there - all OVER the country - reads Free Republic; not everyone has the time to blog, or search news/media sources that aren’t 100% in the bag for the Obama regime, so they info they get is already pre-filtered, sound-bite tested, and decidedly slanted.

Some of the comments on this thread are just plain insulting and ridiculous, made by clueless idiots. I’m not one for crying to the mods to delete posts, because I believe people have a right to their opinions - even if they ARE pulling it out of their brainless, clueless ass.

Where I come from, we don’t insult allies and compatriots. We have a One Team, One Fight mentality.

But I guess that’s too complicated a thought process for some of these enlightened intellectual giants out here to fathom.

There's a certain crowd around here who misheard what was actually said about 47% and federal income taxes ~ they actually think half the country are layabouts who pay no taxes at all ~ don't work ~ and vote for Obama time after time after time.

They are wrong on so many counts it isn't funny but they think that. I've met their kind in real life before ~ they also think half the people in the country are non-white ~ for what it's worth ~ rather the reverse of the black panther types, who i've also met who think half the people are now less than white.

It's kind of like using $250,000 as a cut off for considering people rich ~ which means, quite intriguingly, that no federal employees are ever rich! Combining that with the representation that Fairfax County is America's richest county so somebody should start beating up on federal employees, and you end up with a presidential candidate who actually seems to think that he is not rich, the poor are actually rich, or actually 'the middle class' and nobody in PA or VA ever votes for Republicans ~ so you don't need to campaign there!

What it all means is that too many FReepers don't bother finding out what the statistical evidence really is, and too many presidential candidates and their advisors join them in remaining totally unknowing of what the reality might be, or how these things inter-relate.

I can deal with FReepers by simply providing URLs, but what about these idiot presidential candidates who appear to have never ventured outside the professor's lounge at a state university, or bothered to take a good look at who pays what for which, and BTW, who's been in the Army and done the heavy lifting where you need to risk real skin ~ not just metaphorical skin.

After this I"m going to start selling custom made red arm bands embroidered with your selection of names for your favorite political band or organization ~ and we'll see just how many other people out there have become disillusioned with the intellectual prowess of the current leadership class.

Spot on.

I have a dear friend of mine, a fellow gunny, who is retired Navy. He’s Christian, black, and conservative Republican. He put it best; ‘You never see the Republican candidate or their people knocking on doors in the black neighborhood. You ALWAYS see the Dem candidate or their people knocking on the doors, though.” And you should see the crap my bro puts up with from his family, his friends, and neighbors because he’s Republican.

I can vouch for it in my own neck of the woods as well; the local Dem walks around with his wife, every night, stopping and talking to folks. He’s run for local, county, and state elections, and made it to the township council.

He’s friendly, knows the neighbors, and is a decent guy - but he’s a Dem, and therefore he’s supporting what THEY support at all levels. I’ve had that discussion with him when he stopped to talk with me when I first moved into the neighborhood several years ago.

Suffice to say, we’re not buds...especially at election time.

But the point is - HE’S the local face. Nobody knows who the Repub is automatically. They’re not knocking on doors.

The Dems are.

Facetime gives you an automatic advantage.

Yeah, FReepers of California told me the same thing.

I don’t really know what to tell you.

Any state that re-elects this traitor president is going to have my never ending disdain.

I realize that their are conservatives in such states, but if the state re-elects Obama, then I can’t wait to see the idiots of that state get what they deserve.

If you are not such an idiot, then you are not such an idiot, but you may well be outnumbered by such idiots.

If a person or state willingly chooses to vote away his, her or its freedom, then I got nothing good to say about them.

My point to you, is that it’s insulting to lump good folks - who are allies, fighting the same battle alongside of you - in with your “idiots”.

And the last election proved we ARE outnumbered by idiots - the whole country.

All the more reason not to insult people who ARE on the same side as you.

I’ll leave it there.

Yes, I know, you are right, but I am an honest person, and I can only say what is inside of me at this time.

This situation we find ourselves in, this election and all the circumstances surrounding it, are producing feelings in me that are not necessarily rational.

Basically, if my country re-elects Obama, then I am going to have a staggering amount of disrespect for America. That does not mean that I am going to disrespect every single person in America on an individual and personal basis, but it does mean that I will have lost respect for a country stupid enough to have voted away its freedom.

It’s a very bad, dire situation, NFHale, and it is having a negative effect on me.

There are other thoughts in my head as a result of all this that I dare not every write, but nonetheless, they are there.

Let’s hope and pray that America is indeed smart enough to avoid disaster this November, because if she is not, I fear we are in for Hell.

“..Basically, if my country re-elects Obama, then I am going to have a staggering amount of disrespect for America. ...”

It’s still OUR Country, brother. People DIED for it, loved it, cried over it, sweated and fought for it. Gave up ALL of their tomorrows for our Today, and left it to you and me to be Stewards of it.

America and Americans aren’t the problem. Liberalism/socialism is the problem; and the people brainwashing successive generations of youngsters into hating their own country are the problem.

Work to take it back at every level that you can possibly have an effect over. You only have control over a small area of things in your life...but you DO have control over that area. Use it.

You teach just ONE person, that’s one person less that the other side has to indoctrinate. Two, so much the better.

This ain’t over by a long shot, and you ain’t alone in the “negative effect” thing...but don’t add to it. Do something about it. Volunteer to be a coach; you can teach youngsters baseball, and give them lessons in Americana that the schools AREN’T teaching. I’ve done it for 12 years. It works. Parents will THANK you for it.

We’ll get the country we’re willing to surrender. I’m not willing to surrender it.

And I don’t think you are either.

If we are in for Hell, then so be it. It’s out of our hands, that level of control. But That sword can swing BOTH ways. Every generation gets it’s moment to stand up or roll over.

If this is ours, then that’s the way it is. Thank God for the chance to be a part of it, and thank God for being born an American and giving you the benefit of being able to see the difference between our way and the rest of the world.

We’re STILL a People, with a culture, a heritage, and traditions worth fighting for.

F*** ‘em. We’ll win this thing either way, ultimately.

Piytar:
“Should have been clear: by scum I only meant the obama voting ones. I know, not what I wrote, but what I meant to...”

I understand. If I was unduly harsh in my response to you, it was out of misunderstanding.

One Team, One Fight, folks.

I’ve been in Delaware the last three days and Obama is flooding the televisioin airwaves in this state with advertising spots for his re-election — very long ads contrasting his economic policies with Romney’s. These are ads like the ones that ran at the time of the Democratic National Convention.

So, under what conceivable scenario would Delaware be in play and require this enormous flood of ads?

The fact that people died for our country...that’s one of the things really getting to me. As I see it now, if America re-elects Obama, then the people of today essentially took all of those sacrifices made by men greater than me by far, and just threw them down the drain.

Just thinking of that makes me absolutely crazy.

But that being said, your post is magnificent. I really appreciate you’re writing that to me. It’s hard as Hell for me to keep things in perspective these days. This is literally driving me mad, but if I go mad, they win.

I was talking with my brother the other day who is contemplating sending my nephew to public schools in Denver. His reasoning is that they are some of the best public schools around and of course the cost of private school.

But I told him that you do not want union teachers eductating your son. If they do, there is a very good chance he will come home a good, little communist. I explained to him what they do in detail, and I said you only have one chance to fill the boy’s head with what needs to be in there, and the enemy knows this as well. They are going to try to beat you to that chance.

I’m not certain that I convinced him, but the seed is there, and I will try again. the child is not 2 yet, so there is time.

So I am trying to do what you suggested, despite my growing insanity, I am trying.

Thanks again for your post, NFHale, honestly.

What do you think about a candidate who treats the people of one of the most critical states in the election like so much dog doo doo?

Is he deserving of their votes?
