Here Is The White House Spin On Today's Disappointing Economic Data
Zero hedge ^

Posted on 09/27/2012 11:38:55 AM PDT by Perdogg

A massive 13% collapse in durable goods, the biggest since January 2009; a $20 billion miss to annualized Q2 GDP estimates, and well below the lowest estimate, 60+ weeks of constant upward BLS revisions to initial claims "data" and not to mention assorted atrocious economic (note: not to be confused with market - the two are now completely unlinked) data from around the globe. And what does the White House say: the data shows that the "US is making progress." We sure wouldn't want to know what it would look like if after 3 episodes of easing, trillions injected into the economy via the Fed, and of course $6 trillion in extra debt the US was not making progress. Oh and yes, everything else is Bush's fault.

“Making progress”, yeah, right, progressing DOWNWARD.

No positive information here.

There is no recovery.
The economy is only treading water because it is being propped up by government borrowing and spending and FED money printing. Both are unsustainable. More of the same won’t work.

We need to get someone to ask the really basic questions like... “How are we making progress?” “What are the objective measures that you use to characterize current statistical averages as progress?” “Where did those measures come from?”

The buck never got there; it was spent on shovel (the sh*t) jobs.

Romney needs to push this as hard as possible. He should be saying to people

“This administration always has an excuse, ‘It’s because of bad weather’, ‘it’s Bush’s fault’, ‘the dog ate my homework’. How long are you willing to continuing giving them the benefit of the doubt? How much worse do things have to get for the working, and previously working people of America before we hold this administration accountable for it’s failures - even while they refuse to accept any responsibility? We’ve heard about ‘green shoots’, and ‘recovery summer’, and even heard that ‘the private sector is doing just fine’. Can we really afford to trust them when they tell us again that things are going to get better under their plan? Isn’t that like trusting Lucy not to pull the football away from Charlie Brown ‘this time’? These are serious times. We need serious leadership that is going to be honest with you, and that takes responsibility for its actions.”

From the comments, regarding the "failed policies of the past"

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” -Joseph Goebbels

We havn’t spent enough.
4-10 more trillion, give or take a trillion, ought to do it.
Plus, we need another cash for clunkers program and about 20 million shouvel ready jobs.
Oh, and some more TARP and Bailouts.

Give Obama four more years and he will “fix” America.
Or, as his first EO of his second term declaring America be renamed Obamaland.

Romney needs to push this as hard as possible. He should be saying to people...

Everyone keeps saying that 'Romney needs to find his spine and really take it to Obama'. Well, we're only forty days away from the election, and he still hasn't done it.

Folks need to realize that what you see is what you get with Romney. Maybe he'll do better in the debates. We'll see.

“BLS announced that total employment likely grew by 386,000 more jobs than previously announced during the 12 months from March 2011 to March 2012, and by 453,000 more private sector jobs in that same time period.”

How does that math work?
