A 1 percent tax on billionaires around the world. A tax on all currency trading in the U.S. dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen and the British pound sterling. Another tiny tax on all financial transactions, including stock and bond trading, and trading in financial derivatives. New taxes on carbon emissions and on airline tickets. A royalty on all undersea mineral resources extracted more than 100 miles offshore of any nations territory.
The United Nations is at it again: finding new and innovative ways to create global taxes that would transfer hundreds of billions, and even trillions, of dollars from the rich nations of the world especially the U.S. to poorer ones, in line with U.N.-directed economic, social and environmental development.
These latest global tax proposals have received various forms of endorsement at U.N. meetings over the spring and summer, and will be entered into the record during the 67th U.N. General Assembly session, which began this week. The agenda for the entire session, lasting through December, is scheduled to be finalized on Friday.
How to convince developed countries wracked by economic recession and spiraling levels of government debt especially the U.S. is another issue, which the world organization may well end up trying to finesse.

It would be great to see John Bolton as United States Ambassador to the United Nations.... kicking butt and taking names.
United Nations thinks it’s the World Government .
I will vote against ANY politician who supports this nonsense. Get rid of the UN (Unlimited Nutcases).
..........I'm so glad I moved deeper into the woods.
United Nations thinks its the World Government .
They better think again. Most are a bunch of America haters and who cares what they think. Of course, we have an American president who thinks the same of America.
Denounce, De-fund, Deport, Disarm, Disband!
>>United Nations thinks its the World Government<<
It is nations like the U.S. that allow this sort of thing.

And the Obama Admin if they get back into office, will go along with many of these tax schemes.
>>The UN is not a credible organization<<
100% agree. It is a tool of the left wing.
Except the money would never get to the poor except in trifling amounts. The corrupt heads of governments and the corrupt bureaucrats would siphon off the vast majority of it to enrich themselves.
There is no "stash of cash" laying around to pay taxes. If there had been the politicians would have spent it long ago.
Every tax at every level comes out of our pockets. No corporation or business pays taxes from their "stash of cash". All taxes and regulatory charges/fines imposed by governments at all levels are passed on to the consumers as the price charged for the product/service provided.
Proof of statement?
How many home service bills have you paid that had a surcharge to cover the cost of gasoline?
When a state wants to attract a business from another state what is the first thing offered? - a break on taxes for a few years.
How can corporations produce goods overseas or just across a boarder cheaper - it is not just the prevailing wage.
Now my emotional response to this issue might have been reduced if there was any guarantee that the taxes extorted from us were actually going to be used for their collected purposes. Right! And when was the last time that happened at the state, Federal, International level?
United Nations thinks its the World Government <<
Nope!..its just the Grandaddy of the “new world order”
