The Question should be

Have the people of the USA become so fragmented that
all hope of E. Pluribus Unum has been lost?

Respective of outcome of any election?

E. Pluribus Unum... in today's progressive America, a dead concept written in a dead language by dead white guys.

“Have the people of the USA become so fragmented that all hope of E. Pluribus Unum has been lost?

The answer may lie in another question. What core values and shared sense of identity do the following groups have?

White suburban middle class Christians
Hispanic illegal immigrants and their children
African American urban poor
Wealthy secular Ivy League educated urban whites
Poor rural whites
Middle class African American government employees
First generation Muslim immigrants from Pakistan and the Middle East
Retired elderly whites on fixed incomes
Young unemployed college graduates with liberal arts degrees from average state universities and no name private schools.
First generation Asian immigrants
White males age 55 and above unemployed for more than 12 months
Members of Congress and senior government bureaucrats
Educators

Do all of the above share a strong sense of pride in the country, it’s history, the founder’s vision of limited government and individual liberty? Do they have respect for private property, a commitment to the rule of law, a common definition of right and wrong, a strong sense of personal responsibility? Are they willing to die to protect the country and their neighbors? Are they tolerant of differences of opinion and lifestyles or do they wish to impose their beliefs on others?

Unfortunately, we are a society that values “diversity” not common values. We do not even share a common definition of freedom. To some freedom is being able to live life with minimal government. To others it means government enabling them to enjoy all forms of licentious behavior with zero responsibility for the consequences. To an increasing number it means enjoying a government defined and provided minimum standard of living without having to put forth any effort.
