Just 17% View Debates as Very Important to How They Will Vote
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 10/03/2012

Voters are attaching less significance to the outcome of tonight’s first presidential debate compared to the kick-off debate four years ago.

Eighty-seven percent (87%) of Likely U.S. Voters say they are likely to watch the presidential debates this year, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. That includes 65% who are Very Likely to watch, but that’s down nine points from 74% in September 2008.

Still, just 12% say they are not very or Not At All Likely to watch the debates this year.

17%?

That’ll do it.

Then Obama is doomed for sure.

Sure, if a voter is a parasite, socialist, racist, or clueless their mind is already made up to vote for their community organizer.

How does that follow?

I don’t think most debates will change someone’s mind from one candidate to another, unless a candidate undergoes a meltdown. But I do think they can influence whether they vote or stay home.

Some polls show a close race, so Romney and Barry will both try to play it safe this time and just not make any mistakes.

I expect it will be a dull debate for the most part. If I were MR I would be trying to figure out something I could say that would get under his skin and make him go off.

So this is 17% of the 9% who consent to being polled. Or about 1.5% of the total population.

Exactly.

There are going to be a lot of former obama-bots who are going to see their golden boy stammering, going off script, and generally looking like an idiot, and decide, it's not worth the trouble.

In 2008, kids were all over the place, ringing door bells, making phone calls, getting out the vote. Those same kids are badly disillusioned and aren't the ground operation they were.

If anyone goes into a meltdown its gonna be Obama. He is thin skinned and can feel his grasp of power slipping away. Mitt should try to strike a nerve and provoke this.

There is absolutely nothing that could possibly happen in these debates that will change who I'm voting against. Absolutely nothing.

It is! If you are diabetic, Obamacare will require you to pay deductables and co-pays for your insulin to stay alive. However, if you are a slut, you will get unlimited contraceptives and abortions absolutely free.

That figure might be overestimated.

There is not a single democrat for whom I would ever vote.

Even the worst of the RINOs is better than the best of the democrats.

They are individually and the party as a whole, liars, cheats, thieves and worse. Down with the National Socialist Democrat Party (should have been put down in 1865).

Don’t count on Obama stammering much. All these light days with only one event on his calendar have been opportunities for him to practice. He will be well prepared tonight, and the impression will be....geez, this guy doesn’t even need prep. His low expectations game has even worked with Freepers.

Because for the first time, people are going to see Obama stuttering through defending the indefensible and dealing with critical attacks on his dismal record.

He has been coddled, protected and thrown softballs his whole life. He can’t avoid some big questions this time.

Romney has done tons of debating and deals with attacks one minute to the next.

You don’t have to convince all of that 17 percent, just enough.

Mitt Happens will lose in November.

Why should conservatives vote for a liberal who echoes Obama’s positions on so many issues?

I’m NOT voting for the fake conservative RINO named Mitt Williard Romney. Period.

If Jim Rob wants to ban me because I can’t stand him - well, I’ll have to live with it.

But I don’t want a fake Obama when I can have the real thing. And most Americans agree with me.

We’re blessed with the One until 2017. Thank you, GOP - for giving a truly horrible candidate!

Hey, that’s about 6% of the potential voting public. Enough people to fill New York City.
