It has been pretty clear that the CIA was involved in this mess. I find it interesting that the Washington Post - who has long been a press conduit for the CIA (See Operation Mockingbird for starters) is making it so clear.

Don't know what the end game here is but there is surely division among the ranks.

Kennedy was smirking as he was talking about intelligence and how it "evolved"

Anyone that does not think that our embassies don’t have an Intelligence presence is being naive. Milbank is flailing his arms but how many ops have been exposed by name ala Kerry and Feinstein???

Good idea. Too bad he didn’t think of that before putting the CIA on C-SPAN.

Dana, honey, I think the public had already figured that out before the hearings.

Al Qaeda has has complete access to all US embassy properties since Obama bailed out a month ago. To pretend that this is still a secret is simply comical. Come on WaPo, you can do better than this.

I seem to remember that the Annex was described as
a SAFE HOUSE on September 11, 2012

After the attack on the mission the facility was not secured for HOW MANY days, giving enemies time to access any remaining documents and files that were not destroyed during the assault.

Let me get this straight - everyone in the ME knows out State Department is seeded with CIA agents - but the American people are to be kept in the dark? So it’s OK for the President to lie because Americans must not know what everyone in the world knows but us? Keystone cops. Are we this lame?

In their questioning and in the public testimony they invited, the lawmakers managed to disclose, without ever mentioning Langley directly, that there was a seven-member “rapid response force” in the compound the State Department was calling an annex. One of the State Department security officials was forced to acknowledge that “not necessarily all of the security people” at the Benghazi compounds “fell under my direct operational control.”

Shall we assume the 'protesters of the film' all armed and lacking signs - were 'aware' the CIA exists - that the CIA gathers intelligence and that they're stationed in foreign countries? Often on 'American soil' so to speak? And that all the other countries in the world do the same? If our enemies know, it's OK for our citizens to know... time for everyone to get real.
