A student’s view: Biden’s debate skills rekindle Democratic base
Houston Chronicls ^ | October 12, 2012 | by Neeraj Salhotra

... Throughout the debate the vice president explained to the American people what all the president has accomplished and, in the process, inspired Democrats to recall the president’s success and remember that although Obama may have had one bad day of debating, he has had an amazing four years of leading.

This powerful closing statement, coupled with Biden’s statements during the debate, exemplified the fundamental differences between Obama and Romney, between a “We are in this together” mentality and “You are on your own” mindset. More importantly, Biden repositioned the theme of this election to the singular challenges facing America — rising income inequality and falling social mobility. These hurdles threaten the American dream, leave many Americans struggling to give their children an opportunity to succeed, and trap millions in an inescapable cycle of poverty. By transforming the narrative, outlining the president’s accomplishments, and contrasting the Obama-Biden vision with that of Romney-Ryan, Biden energized Democrats and refocused this election on the insidious inequality that excludes numerous Americans from reaching their dreams.

Interrupting 82 times in a 90 minute debate is NOT a skill.

This is wishful thinking from a foreigner that is trying to be relevant in the national question of “why in the hell would anyone in their right mind vote again for this crew”...

My guess is he’s looking for his green card to be finalized or some crap like that. He certainly isn’t here for a legitimate H1-B visa thing....his major is pure trash.

If your base needs “rekindling” 3 weeks before the election, you are toast. These debates are really to convince the unconvinced “independents” which way to go and Ryan aimed at this group and I’d say hit the target while Uncle Joe did not appeal to them, especially women.

BS. The VP debate ratings were way down from 2008. Most of the Donkey base was watching baseball.

“We are in this together” mentality and “You are on your own” mindset

I'm not in anything together with the cell phone lady - nor with most of those who are rooting for zero.

““We are in this together” mentality “

Liberalspeak for “we will fleece anyone who succeeds, and redistribute the proceeds to the worthless 47%.
It’s always about “other peoples money”.

The bulk of this Op-Ed was probably written before the debate took place.

I would be kind. Let us assume that the exotic name is purely coincidence--that Mr. Salhotra is a dedicated, well-intentioned American. That assumed for the sake of argument, what have we got?

A student, absolutely clueless as to the fundamental principals of the people, whose interests, he claims to be promoting!

America was never intended to be some form of Marxist Collective; was never dedicated to egalitarian idiocy; was never focused to seek collectivist solutions to individual problems. Rather, we were a settler people, dedicated to limited governmental intrusions into our lives, and unlimited individual possibilities, premised upon maximum individual responsibility.

See America--Grounded On Experience & Reason. If Mr. Salhotra really believes that what Mr. Biden offers is consistent with American principles, he should demand his tuition at Rice be returned. He is not getting educated; only indoctrinated in fallacy.
