Koch Industries, other CEOs warn employees of layoffs if Obama is reelected (good for them!)
Yahoo! The Ticket ^ | 10/14/12 | Dylan Stableford

Posted on 10/14/2012 3:53:23 PM PDT by markomalley

Koch Industries, the Wichita, Kan.-based company run by the billionaire Koch brothers, sent a voter information packet to 45,000 employees of its Georgia Pacific subsidiary earlier this month.

In it was a letter, dated Oct. 1, from Koch Industries president Dave Robertson implicitly warning that "many of our more than 50,000 U.S. employees and contractors may suffer the consequences" of voting for President Obama and other Democrats in the 2012 elections, a list of conservative candidates the company's political action committee endorses and a pair of editorials: one, by David Koch, supporting Mitt Romney, and the other, by Charles Koch, condemning Obama.

"While we are typically told before each Presidential election that it is important and historic, I believe the upcoming election will determine what kind of America future generations will inherit," Robertson's letter--first published by InTheseTimes.com--begins. "If we elect candidates who want to spend hundreds of billions in borrowed money on costly new subsidies for a few favored cronies, put unprecedented regulatory burdens on businesses, prevent or delay important new construction projects, and excessively hinder free trade, then many of our more than 50,000 U.S. employees and contractors may suffer the consequences, including higher gasoline prices, runaway inflation, and other ills. This is true regardless of what your political affiliation might be."

Good for Koch Industries! More companies should let their employees know the consequences of their vote.

I am waiting for an administrative rule (not law from Congress) from Dept of Labor or HHS that no lay offs can take place due to health care reasons.

Of course, the Slave Party will cry foul as a campaign activity in kind, over supposedly non-partisan public airways they control absolutely without paying a dime.

I believe that is covered in Directive 10-289. (Unfortunately obscure Atlas Shrugged reference)

The Slave Party needs a reminder .... this is no more ‘foul’ than the government telling defense contractors to ignore the LAW and not send out notices (before the election) that layoffs are around the corner .... and sticking taxpayers with the legal fees, etc. for noncompliance with the law. It’s out and out blackmail - send timely notices prior to Nov. 6 and ooops! you may not get that government contract you were counting on.

Good for these businessmen. Why can’t they tell their employees how to vote for the best choice for their companies. Isn’t that what unions do, on top of making their members pay for the privilege of being told how to vote and think.

“You cannot be pro-jobs and anti-business at the same time. You cannot love employment and hate employers.” 1992 Democratic National Convention. [1]

‘Everything we hope to do, depends on an expanding economic pie. And only a vibrant, competitive, thriving private sector can create that. Government is a necessary partner, but it is the junior partner. Only the private sector can produce the revenues for the social programs that we Democrats care so much about. The financing of those programs through ever more public debt violates our generation responsibility.’

Paul Paul Tsongas said, “Two hundred years ago, our Founding Fathers gave us a democracy. It was based upon the simple, yet noble, idea that government derives its validity from the consent of the governed.”

No, our Founding Fathers gave us a REPUBLIC...Big difference between a REPUBLIC and a DEMOCRACY...

As the fear of some EPA Inspector, DOL, or IRS audit subsides, and as they see a Romney Victory, more are becoming enbolden to speak out. They weren't cowards for not doing it 2 years ago, they had workers with mouths to feed, and were trying to figure out how to survive this loon. They are now exhausted and will speak up for Liberty, it is time and sometimes in Valor it is about timing, when to say "no"....

By the way your post deserves this.....

I like this. Obama uses the media and unions while corporations use their ownership and property to inform their employed with the facts. It’s a great way to get Obama out of office and it’s legal.

My college frat mate who works for Microsoft told me the reason why MS are angling for more H1-B visas is because they are not citizen employees and won’t be under the mandatory healthcare law.
