With fewer than three weeks until Election Day, new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls show President Barack Obama maintaining his lead over Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in the battleground states of Iowa and Wisconsin.

According to the polls – which were conducted from Monday through Wednesday, encompassing Tuesday’s presidential debate in New York and after – Obama receives the support of 51 percent of likely voters in Iowa to Romney’s 43 percent.

And in Wisconsin, Obama is ahead by six points among likely voters, 51 percent to 45 percent, which also is virtually unchanged from last month.

There was some thread about some middle eastern tribe that sounded similar to Basengi, and I made some lame joke about the barkless basengi dog sneeking up on this homonymic tribe and then added that even the female basengis didn’t bark...and you foretold the upcoming excrement storm. :{) I haven’t spoken to my wife in over three months. We’re not fighting, I just don’t like to interrupt.

From Ace of Spades Blog:

18% of Iowans have voted

http://minx.cc/?post=334004

18% of Iowans have voted

Not 34%, 18%. Which means the Marist finding (just like the Ohio one) is horses###.

18%. Take your eyeballs over to the Secretary of States’ website which shows a total of 284,000 in. Unless 2012 turnout is going to crash to unbelievable levels (was 1.5 million in 08, just under that in 04), that is 18%.

Demographic breakdown:

Democrats have a 54,000 vote edge, 49.4% to R’s 30.3%, meaning Obama must be running better than 7/8ths of the Independent vote to approach your “35 point margin”. In fact, the Democratic “advantage” so far matches the 2004 “advantage”, a race they lost by over 10,000 votes.

Facts are a sh#### thing when you are desperately clinging to the narrative.

For those fact-checkers out there, go ahead and look at the numbers reported by the Secretary of State. I’m not pulling stats out of my butt like, obviously, Marist. That statistic of “1/3 in and its 2/3 Obama !!!” will be repeated ad naseum as truth, when it is bogus and easily disproven. Let’s see how many actually bother to fact-check it. I’m not holding my breath.

ps I think your range of 2014-2016 is egregiously optimistic.

The Iowa Farmers must be smoking their fertiliser.

Either that or they are frightened Mitt might stop making fuel out of their corn.

No way Iowa and it’s 98% white population vote to reelect Obama.

Not so fast. All most every one in Iowa I grew up with are Obama lovers big time. They bash republicans daily and are very pro gay marriage. Not the same place I left years ago. It's turned into a liberal hell hole.Don't care if I ever set foot back there as long as I live.

“It’s turned into a liberal hell hole”

Iowa City is a liberal hell hole...that does not necessarily make the whole state a liberal hell hole.
