It Looks Like We’ve Discovered Gloria Allred’s Romney-Bashing October Surprise
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 10/21/12 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 10/21/2012 12:33:51 PM PDT by Nachum

On Friday Drudge teased that far left sensationalist Gloria Allred was about to drop a bomb on the Romney Campaign.

Allred has a reputation of dragging perceived female victims in front of the camera as props to bash Republican candidates. In October 2010 Allred dragged out illegal alien Nicki Diaz to attack heartless Meg Whitman. Minaj was upset Whitman didn’t buy her child a present and claimed Meg took advantage of her despite the fact she made a good wage. In November 2011 she dragged out Sharon Bialek who accused Herman Cain of sexual abuse.

So it is likely this year’s October surprise is Carrel Hilton Sheldon, a former Mormon.

The book Horror Stories: Mitt Romney’s Shameful Record with Mormon Women details Mitt Romney’s “psychological intimidation and bullying” during his role as a Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The report describes how Romney “tried to bully” Carrel Hilton Sheldon when she was suffering through a difficult pregnancy into not having an abortion. AlterNet reported:

A far more ominous tale in the Romney canon also took place that summer, one that has been largely swept under the rug as the former governor of Massachusetts challenges incumbent Barack Obama for the presidency. There have been no songs written about it, no cartoons, no gags on late-night television, no magazine covers.

It was in August of that year, shortly after the Romney family returned from their vacation to Lake Huron, that a pregnant woman in her late 30s—Carrel Hilton Sheldon—was informed

--Do you call these other individuals pimps, as well? --Yup.

It is stunning to see you so piously make that nasty assessment about people living, working, breathing and walking the pro-life ministry walk.

I'll continue to believe their testimony about Romney versus your anonymous screenname just talking a vicious talk.

You need not believe me or them... Just look at his RECORD! There it is for all to see.

Obviously you didn’t even read the statements before you named them as pimps.

They ARE talking about his record of actions as Governor... and THEY were the pro-life advocates who worked with him for years in Massachusetts.

I know that you are mentally ill, that is why you say the things you do and don’t reveal which post you are responding to.

It is also why JR has had to jump on you for these kind of things.

Here's a story that should have you saying, gosh, maybe Mitt is pro-life, and it's a story meant to hurt him.

Yet once again, all you can do is continue your role as Axelrod conservative on FR.

Help Bambi at all costs, make sure he wins by repeating lies and exaggerations.

Great job, do you get paid for this, or are you just stupid?

So Romney stood up for an innocent child; meanwhile dear leader assassinates Americans without a trial and gets an ambassador killed through negligence at the least.

Like I said earlier...I used to enjoy your posts. I now regard you as cruel at best...liberal at worst.

Actually I did clear it up.

Out of the blue you posted “”I think President Reagan signed abortion legislation when he was governor of California.
Just sayin’””

Now you want to pretend that you had no reason for it, no intent, no meaning, but of course you have kept digging at Reagan since then.

That isn’t only dishonest, it is child like and creepy for a grown man to be behaving so, and pretending so.

It is such a childish way to avoid the facts about Mitt Romney and to get a dig at the pro-life conservatives, you romneybots have been going after Reagan in service to Mitt, for about 6 years now.

Actually, had you taken the time to read the entire thread, which you obviously haven’t, you would know that I didn’t pull that “out of the blue”.

It was in a response to a comment about Reagan Conservatism. But I’m sure you know that./s

It is also somewhat childish to hold any person on a pedastal.

Just for the record...I am not a Romneybot. But I’m sure you know that since you have read the entire thread.

This is getting silly, post after post of the crowd that ignores facts, read his posts to me, direct quotes of Mitt Romney stating his abortion position cannot be lies.

When a poster goes on thread after thread refusing to respond to posts, and only posting repeatedly that direct quotes are lies, and conceals which posts he is responding to in every thread, and has to be calmed down by JR, then yes, something is wrong with him, and lying is one of those things.

Anything to avoid Romney's abortion facts.

Reagan was conservative, was always pro-life, and you are lying when you keep trying to convey the impression that he was pro-abortion, as you have done in post, after post, after post.

Why you romneybots despise Reagan has always baffled us here, we have never understood why they have to go hand in hand.

"My position has been the same throughout my political career, and it goes back to the days of 1970,” he said. “There was a woman who was running for political office, U.S. Senate. She took a very bold and courageous stand in 1970, and that was in a conservative state. That was that a woman should have the right to make her own choice as to whether or not to have an abortion. Her name was Lenore Romney, she was my mom. Even though she lost, she established a record of courage in that regard."

You are still awaiting my reply to if Reagan signed abortion legislation as governor?

Are you reading the posts to you, where I describe the bill and it’s signing??

To: berdie
Your point is the context in which you use it, and then leave it hanging, it is obvious what your purpose is.

Reagan regretted it immediately when he saw what was being done with the bill that he signed in 1966, in his first months in office.

A bill that was to the right of Mitt’s current position on abortion, the bill said “health” but with strict interpretation needing a medical committee, within months doctors were being called before the boards for violating the law.

The pro-life movement was in it’s infancy then, Mitt Romney is no infant, Romney has always been a passionate and dedicated pro-choicer, along with his Planned Parenthood supporting wife.

The only purpose I had in answering your post at all is the phrases “always this” or “always that”. Let’s face it these people are politicians. They are not “always” anything. Please feel free to call me a cynic.
You are worse than a cynic, you are a liar, you just implied again that Reagan was once pro-abortion and switched, by using that “always this” or “always that” remark, Reagan was “always” pro-life, just as Romney was “always” pro-abortion, his own words verify that from 1963 to 2005.

In August Mitt rejected the republican pro-life platform.

By the way, to correct my previous post, it was 1967, not 1966 when Reagan signed the bill, Mitt had only been committed to being pro-abortion for 4 years, and the abortion wars were only just starting with RoeVwade coming up and decades of battles and elections to go, Mitt was on the pro-abortion side for all of those decades.

OK, you accuse people of ignoring Romney’s “abortion facts”.

Here they are, his FACTS... actions as Governor on pro-life legislation, vetoing pro-abortion bills, etc.

Governor Romney was presented with legislation concerning life issues on several occasions from the 85% majority Democrat Legislature in Massachusetts. In every instance he took the pro-life position by vetoing bills or lobbying for the pro-life approach, including the following actions:

He vetoed the bill providing state funding for human embryonic stem cell research
(Theo Emery, “Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney Vetoes Stem Cell Bill,” The Associated Press, 5/27/2005)

He vetoed a bill that provided for the “morning after pill” without a prescription because it is an abortifacient and would have been available to minors without parental notification and consent

(Governor Mitt Romney, Op-Ed, “Why I Vetoed Contraception Bill,” The Boston Globe, 7/26/2005)

He pledged to veto any bill that would expand access to RU-486, the abortion pill

(Hugh Hewitt, “Interview with Governor Romney,” The Hugh Hewitt Show, 7/27/2005)

He vetoed legislation which would have redefined Massachusetts longstanding definition of the beginning of human life from fertilization to implantation

(Governor Mitt Romney, Letter To The Massachusetts State Senate And House Of Representatives, 5/12/2005)

He supported parental notification laws and opposed efforts to weaken parental involvement

(John McElhenny, “O’Brien And Romney Spar In Last Debate Before Election,” The Associated Press, 10/29/2002)

He fought to promote abstinence education in public school classrooms with a program offered by faith-based Boston group Healthy Futures to middle school students. Gov. Romney’s administration was the first in Massachusetts to use federal abstinence education funds for classroom programs.

(Office of Gov. Mitt Romney, “Romney Announces Award of Abstinence Education Contract,” Press Release, 4/20/2006)

Governor Romney: “Times of decision are moments of great clarity. Before I was Governor, the life issue was just that, an issue. But when responsibility for life or ending life was placed in my hands, I made the right decision. I chose life.”

(Governor Mitt Romney, Remarks At The National Right To Life Convention Forum, Kansas City, MO, 6/15/2007)

Your turn. Let’s see you post pro-life legislation that Romney ever vetoed, or any pro-abortion bill that Romney ever signed. And don’t try to claim Romneycare because the word abortion does NOT appear anywhere in the bill he signed.

The liberals I sometimes have the misfortune to debate with use the same tactics you do. Call names, misdirection and repeating the same thing over and over. I there by must conclude that if you are not a liberal...you have surely studied their strategy in depth. You certainly seem to have a handle on it.

First..we were not discussing Romney’s outloook on abortion. This thread was about Allred’s October surprise about Romney counseling a parishoner about not aborting her child. (Spare me the Mormon counseling a Mormon to spare their child. That is not true and I believe you know it.)

I think Reagan was the greatest president of our time..so give that a rest.

You have still not answered my post 230.

Did Reagan sign pro abort legislation? I don’t care if he regretted it.

“baffled us here” and “we have never”. Do you have a mouse in your pocket?

Yes I did, your post was irrelevant except to give the impression that Reagan was pro-abortion at one time, an impression which you have striven to reinforce ever since.

Romney has always been pro-abortion.

Governor Mitt Romney: And so what should I do? I should not have been pro-choice. And so therefore I’m just finished right their. Well you were pro choice so you distanced yourself from your faith so your finished. So what should I say?

Jan Mickelson: No, no, I made a mistake when I…

Governor Mitt Romney: And every Mormon should be pro-life?

Jan Mickelson: If that’s what your Church says.

Governor Mitt Romney: That’s not what my Church says! There are leaders of my Church who are pro-choice. You’re wrong. That’s your problem.
