It’s probably because it is a private group Jim Robinson has to okay you joining (which he did very quickly). I was happy about that.

You can afford to let the ME pull itself out of the 11th century if:

1. The US becomes the pre-eminent energy exporter in the world over the next decade, and
2. You vow to support Israel in every way you can.

Unlike Obama, Mitt’s domestic economic policy dovetails with his foreign policy.

finally on.

First off, I think BS did a nice job as moderator.

I am not going to argue the Newt/Palen/Romney who is the better. The point is we have one, it is Romney. May not be the best but anything is better than BO.

I think Romney won the debate. He won on form and substance. He did not let His Excellency draw him into any traps or to have it deconstruct into he said no he did not say thing. The more BO’s strategy failed, the more desperate he looked. Romney basically called him a liar three times about positions he has taken and was proved right each time. The one I loved was the car company bankrupty when he totally undercut BO’s assertion he saved the car companies by a simple “oh by the way, Bush started the help to them” and then went on to say he was in favor of guarantees for loans and warrantees. Barry said his usual check the record comment and this time no help was forthcoming.

Lastly, on the economy, Romney made the connection to a bad economy to national security and then demolished BO’s record. Any open minded person should have been swayed. Considering the BO did not have near 50% of the vote in any swing state, he is sure to lose most if not all of them based on the results of this and other debates along with the proven fact that uncommitted swing to the challengers almost always.

Going into the debate I figured Romney would garner 272-275 electoral votes, I think that may be conservative now.

All IMO of course.

People that believe O is good on foreign policy are just idiots that are focused on home.

O aint that strong.

Romney will rip O’s foreign policy in days to come while securing the peoples thoughts on Obamas neglect of domestic issues.

“Barack Obama’s Sling Blade Stare was pretty creepy”

Just an average, common, sociopath stare.

I can’t follow 1000+ posts, but I scanned through and didn’t see this:

Did anybody note that Obama called Egypt our most important ally in the Middle East, and did not mention Israel? When the question went to Romney, he mentioned Israel.

Not sure what the precise question was.

Neither focus group tonight either on Fox or CNN revealed who people switched to in terms of candidates.

Ticked off at that....what’s the point of the focus group then?

Found that very odd myself, especially with the Fox bunch.
Show of hands, who is still undecided, who is for Skippy and who is for Romney.........What's so hard about that?

“what was that pink wristband Obama was wearing?”

It was for Code Pink. They wouldn’t let him in wearing the vagina suit so he had to settle for the bracelet.

There’s no defending Mubarak, and Egypt is busy screwing itself.

Thank God nobody asked whether we ought to keep sending billions to Egypt or not.

“...I was so frustrated tonight and JUST got on to post and read, after trying for over 2 hrs. Just isn’t worth the effort....”

I know how you feel, believe me. I was getting desperate myself, as I depend on Free Republic to get me through these things. If you have a Facebook account you might try Free Republic on Facebook. Someone suggested it near the beginning of the thread. It was a completely satisfying sub, and since many Freepers populate the place, it felt like home. Quite a fast moving and stimulating way to follow a major event, like tonight’s debate.

Plus, lol, you can click the like button. I don’t know why I love that. Kind of like being able to say ‘Amen’ to a preacher preaching a good sermon. :)

From the public’s pov, a draw imo – because the public is too stupid to see a liar right in front of their face.

From my pov, Romney won but only because I’m educated enough to see thru Obama’s many lies.

Romney was too much of a gentleman at times, but maybe that was his campaign strategy for this third debate.

Obama threw out soo much dishonest chaff that needed correction that Romney didn’t have time to correct all of it. He corrected some of it and continued to take the high road.

At times, I felt he should have essentially thrown up his arms in frustration and said, “Why do you keep repeating all these snarky lies when time and time again, I’ve corrected you on them?”

In the end, I think a lot boils down to shallow things like facial expressions, appearance/style. Romney clearly had that over Barky Obunga.

My neighbor lady (85 y/o conservative) called me right after and said “Romney looked fatherly.” Hadn’t thought of it that way, but that’s an appeal he probably has for a lot of people. He’s a true father in real life and he exudes that quality.

Obama exudes the characteristics of a petulant punk.

His beady eyes made him appear as if he was always defending a lie.

But the “FATHERLY” comparison sums up an essence about Romney that Obama just doesn’t have.

Bork Obunga is a professional complainer and that’s it...

Since America has become a nation of children, it follows that they may fall for more of a father figure than Obama. That’s why Obunga will lose.

RE :”I say take that dog to the pound.”

Debate in a nutshell.

Romney :” I agreed on the Presidents decision to do it however I would have went further and done a better job. It didn't work out at all the way he did it.”

Obama :”But you said the exact opposite just last week. Last week you said you wouldn't have done it at all. you change your position every week.”

Romney :"Well I must again disagree with you Mr President. That was not my position at all. Attacking me is not an agenda.

Obama :"Now he have some new weapons called tanks and planes, We don't need to use spears or muskets anymore. Why don't you read up on the last few centuries?

Moderator :"Can we move on???

Romney smiling with stars in eyes.

He always does that. Found it weird.

CNN doesn’t always, but last time they did take a poll off-camera to give us a count. This time they didn’t even do that.
