I live up in the high desert above Los Angeles, California. Lots of Section 8'ers up here. Our neighborhood is mixed race, heavily black and Hispanic.

This past weekend I went to Walmart at 1:00 a.m., expecting to be able to buy toilet paper and a few other goodies (since Walmart here has historically been open 24 hours). When I got there, the place was closed. Yesterday I was informed that they have been closed midnight to 6:00 a.m. since July something or other.

Don't know if there's any connection between this and any possible rioting that might be expected.

I plan on staying close to home except for voting. Will keep an eye peeled for trouble. Hope everybody stays safe!

A few years ago Walmart opened one of the biggest superstores in the nation in my city. It was not in the best area of town, to be pc. Anyway, they couldn’t hire enough people to contain the shoplifting, so they actually downsized the store to half its size. Ever heard of that before? Then, when the shoplifting continued, they cut the hours to close at 11pm, it was initially a 24/7 store.

I work at the Walmart that was besieged by the 300 black youths who had the food fight in the grocery section earlier this year. We’re now closed from 11:00pm to 6:00pm.

The reason given to us was that there was too much theft going on at night. While that may be true, the smash-mob video promoted on YouTube didn’t help matters either.
